Recommended Dolly To Tow 1989 Ford Mustang With V8 Engine
Question:
Your base plate kit for the 1989 Mustang says it does not work with the V8s. Do you know why this is? Could it or the car be modified to fit? I really need one of these. Thanks.

Many times the demand is not there for the manufacturers to spend the time to develop and make items for vehicles.
With your Mustang being a 1989, my best guess is that there simply is not enough people asking for base plates and wanting to flat-tow the vehicle. We do have a solution for you.
I recommend the RoadMaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes, part # RM-2050-1. This dolly has an adjustable axle and ramps to make it compatible with almost any vehicle. Plus you do not need to worry about transmission pumps as you do with many vehicles. You do want to check your owner's manual to see if there are any restrictions or guidelines to follow when towing.
