for your 2013 Toyota RAV4 we offer three wire harnesses.
To reduce the trailer lights power draw on the wiring system in your RAV4 a powered converter is required when installing a trailer wiring harness like part # 118578. The installation is simple. You do want to make sure you use the inline fuse for the power wire going to the battery. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to route the power wire to the battery you can take a look at.
You can check the installation to make sure you are getting power to the plug. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and have someone run through the functions while you check the pins in the harness at the back of the vehicle. I have attached a link to the installation instructions for the # 118578 and also a link to an installation video for the wire harness on a 2012 RAV4 you can take a look at.
If you want to let me know what wiring harness you purchased I will be happy to see if I can offer any other ideas for troubleshooting or recommendations.
