How do I get rid of the display saying service the brake towing system.

When installing a brake controller in a 2008 Chevy Silverado that is equipped with a factory brake controller you shouldn't get any warning messages on the dash of the vehicle.
What I would recommend you do is check out the help article that I attached that details exactly how you would go about doing this. You may have missed a step on the way and that is why you are seeing an error code.
