Will Brake Controller Work With Boat Trailer That Has No Brakes
Question:
I have a 2007 Nissan Titan SE pickup. I tow a heavy boat with a single axle trailer without trailer brakes. Will a brake controller help with my braking? Or does it only work with trailers with brakes? Thanks,

In order for a brake controller to work with any trailer, the trailer must be equipped with working brakes.
If you have an idler axle on your trailer you may want to consider adding brakes to be able to handle the heavy boat. My recommendation is to add electric over hydraulic disc brakes to your trailer. I have attached a helpful article you can check out.
If you decide you want to install brakes on your trailer, let me know and I can make some recommendations that will work for you.
