Are Additional Breakers Needed for Installation of Brake Controller in a 2012 GMC Sierra
Question:
I have a 2012 GMC Sierra w/towing package, 7 pin plug, and purchased the Tekonsha P3. I installed it according to your video. Spliced the four wires and hooked up the other wire in the engine bay. You have a note in the description that says I may need a 20 amp circuit breaker for a 4 brake system. But there no mention of this in any videos I looked at. The unit has power and appears to be working fine. I have not hooked it to the trailer yet. How do I know if I need the circuit breaker and if I do, where does it get installed, the drivers side engine bay panel where I hooked up the red wire??

For your application you would not need a circuit breaker. Your vehicle has a brake output circuit that already has circuit protection built into it. The connections you made under the hood of your vehicle connected the brake circuit to your vehicle's circuit protected fuse panel.
You are good to go and would not need to install any additional breakers.
