Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a B and W Turnover Companion Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I have the Curt 16210 X5 adapter plate for a Curt Q20 5th wheel hitch. I had a BandW Turnover Ball Companion hitch in my previous truck, which I really enjoyed. This Curt hitch is quite finicky compared to my old BandW, and therefore I am interested in a better hitch that will fit my X5 adapter and rated for 18K or more. I know there is the 18K Patriot from BandW, but is there something else that works as easily that would be rated for 18K or 20K? Thanks

You can't go wrong with a B and W fifth wheel hitch. A lot of the installers here say they are their favorite hitches.

Since you have a Turnover gooseneck hitch you could use a Companion Slider 20k Hitch part # BWRVK3400 and not have to mess with the adapter at all. This would be your best choice honestly. The B and W Patriot only has a 16k capacity and doesn't slide so it would not be a good option.

You could also sell the X5 to offset the cost of the Companion if you wanted to as well.
