Weight Distribution System for a 1989 Ford F150 Towing a 2006 Keystone Trailer
Question:
I have a 1989 f150 shortbed, allready installed with a Shelton hitch. I have a 2006 Keystone, 3510 lbs with a tongues weight it says of 500# that seems excessive for a 19foot Hybrid. My question is, which WDH do you recommend with anti-sway, thank you.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
Typically tongue weight is 10-15 percent of the total trailer weight, so your 3,500 lb trailer will most likely have a tongue weight of 350-525 lbs. For a system that would work well with that range I would recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083. This system is great because it has the only anti-sway system on the market that works to prevent sway before it starts.
I attached a review video for this product for you to check out as well.
