Can the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System Be Transferred To Another Vehicle
Question:
Hey there, we already have this setup on one trailer we have and our Ford F350. We are buying a second trailer and want to have this setup so the Ford can tow both. In addition to that, we also have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Would the hitch side of this kit work on our Jeep Grand Cherokee with the factory tow package? So this way we can use either vehicle to pull either trailer, both using the WD system? Or would we need to buy a different shank / hitch setup for the Grand Cherokee?

The Strait-Line Weight Distribution Systems like part # RP66083 will work on pretty much any vehicle that is permitted to be used with a weight distribution system. That said, the shank that comes with won't work on all vehicle as it is for a 2" hitch that requires no more or less than a 6-1/2" rise or a 1-1/4" drop. If you do need a different rise/drop or hitch size then you'd need to replace this with an option below. In short, you need to measure to determine compatibility.
