adjustable front mount - skewer removedadjustable rear mount

To fit factory, round, aero, and square crossbars, Yakima designed the fork block and rear mount to be fully adjustable. The claw of each mount removes and repositions in one of three grooves, adapting to the size of your crossbars for a snug fit.

locking skewer closedlocking skewer is open position showing the red adjustment knob

The ForkLift provides a safe mounting point for your bike with an SKS-lockable skewer, which features an integrated adjustment knob. Opening the skewer end shows the red adjustment knob which tightens (or loosens) the hold on the bike fork. The adjustment knob is hidden when you close the end of the skewer. The end of the skewer can be also be locked closed with an SKS core. This will lock your bike to the bike carrier, and secures the bike carrier to the roof rack crossbars.

rear wheel traywheel mounted in tray

An easy-to-adjust, sliding wheel tray adds to the compatibility of the ForkLift. The wheel tray positions easily and includes a ratcheting strap to hold the rear wheel securely in place.

This carrier holds a wide range of bikes, including most bikes with disc brakes.

ForkLift installs with no tools, tightening over your crossbars with adjustment knobs and T-bolts.

The sleek design and automotive finish look great on your vehicle, and the lightweight, sturdy steel construction ensures durability.

Good product. However, the one I ordered was supposed to fit the aero cross bars on 2018 Subaru roof racks and it doesn't. In fact the fit is very sloppy and looks unsafe. Sending mine back if they can't find a clamp that fullly contacts all surfaces.

This forklift roof mounted bike carrier part Y02098 will fit most factory bars. The factory bars have to be no wider than 3-7/8 inches wide and 1-7/8 inches tall.

by:

Yep - exactly what I ordered. Instructions included are very thorough. The bike carrier arrived with some box damage but was in perfect condition. Includes everything but the locking cylinder for the skewer (for obvious reasons). I appreciate the clear instructions on how to assemble it all together. Haven't put it on my Yakima rack yet but I know it's straightforward. Can't wait to put the carrier into service!

by:

Fits my whispbar crossbars (a lot cheaper than the whispbar-specific rack) and is pretty simple and straightforward to use. I've owned a couple of other universal sort of racks (fit lots of bikes, fit lots of crossbars) and this one is a good one both in terms of simple initial installation on your vehicle and also simple loading/unloading of bike.

The bike rack in question is still getting the job done very well - thanks

by:

Great bike rack that is not overly bulky.
It was easy to install and matches my roof rack perfectly.

Still works great!

by:

Once I figured out that my factory crossbars *could be moved* everything worked (2009 Subaru Outback). If you happen to have fixed position crossbars, and your bike's wheelbase just happens to place the rear wheel exactly in the middle of the rear clamp, then it won't work (even if you get the free fix). The rear tire ratcheting tie down (wheel tray) can't be placed suitably close to the rear wheel for buckling.

Also, the clamps don't *exactly* match the shape of my crossbars, so the gripping force is not spread out. I need a notch between the upper and middle notches, or a rubbery, compressible surface.

by:

these racks arrived in 2 days with free shipping. the racks were very easy to install and look good. the videos of the installations on specific car models were very helpful.

by:

Love this bike rack. Easy to mount (took it off for the snowy winter months), but it is still very secure. Reasonably priced for good quality.

by:

This is a great roof rack, easy to install and mount a bike. Transported my bike from Michigan to Florida and back.

by:

Perfect for my application. Yakima makes a very nicely engineered product.

by:

Front mount is hard to turn.

by:

The clamps fit factory oval cross bars. No adapters necessary. Setup on my 04 Outback took 20 minutes.

by:

My order is missing the locking skewer, i spoke with Nicholas, in customer service, and he is going to get me a replacement part ASAP.

  • Roof Rack for a 2015 Hyundai Accent 5-Door Hatchback and Yakima ForkLift Bike Carrier
That is correct, the Rola roof rack with APX mounting system from a 2014 Hyundai Accent will not fit your 2015 Accent hatchback. The Yakima locks would not work with the Rhino-Rack roof rack or the Rola roof rack. If your Yakima lock cores have SKS on them then they would fit the Whispbar bars. The ForkLift, # Y02098 will fit the Whispbar, Rhino-Rack, and Rola bars. Whispbar is a top of the line all aluminum carrier (with the exception of the feet) with a more aerodynamic shape. Other...

  • Recommendation for Carrying 4 Bikes on BMW 535i
The 2015 BMW 5 Series will use a Class I trailer hitch like the Curt trailer hitch # C11381. Due to their limited tongue weight capacity Class 1 trailer hitches are limited to carrying 2 bikes so you won't be able to carry four bikes with the Swagman Titan Bike Rack # S63410. The limited tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of downward force that can be safely applied to the hitch) is one reason, but additional bikes after the first two move the load further rearward away from the receiver...

What you would need is the RV Bumper Bike Rack part # S80605 to attach to your 4 inch bumper. Since the two sections of the rack can be spaced wherever needed on the bumper you would just need to space the rack so that the wheels of your tandem bike line up.

  • Can the Yakima Raptor Aero Roof Rack Mount Bike Rack be Converted into a Fork Mount
There is no way to convert your frame mount bike rack to a fork mount. You would need to purchase a new fork mount rack. For factory elliptical bars you could use # Y02098 if you like the Yakima products. Or for a more economical option you could go with the Swagman fork mount rack # S64710. I have linked a video review of the rack for you.

  • Bike Stuck In Yakima Forklift By Skewer Bolt
The "Skewer Bolt" runs through the Yamika mount on both sides as well as the bike forks. If you are having difficulty unscrewing the skewer, first keep in mind that this is a reverse thread that requires that you unscrew it in the opposite direction. Finally applying some penatrating oil to help lossen the bolt if it is seized. The next time you are putting the skewer bolt back in I would suggest a dab of anti seize lube # LT37616

The Yakima Boa Y02065 is not a direct fit to the factory crossbars on a 2006 to 2013 Mini Cooper. But there are other racks that will fit including the FrontLoader # Y02103, and ForkLift # Y02098. I have included links to video reviews of each rack for you to view. You can use a hitch adapter like part # HTAD and carry two bikes in the carrier. using any adapters in the hitch will reduce the capacity of the hitch by 50 percent. You can then get a roof rack and bike carriers for the roof of your Accord. If you have no side rails or crossbars on the roof I recommend the Rhino-Rack...
