Roof Rack for a 2015 Hyundai Accent 5-Door Hatchback and Yakima ForkLift Bike Carrier

Question:

I just bought a 2015 Hyundai Accent 5-Door Hatchback. It is bare roof with factory fixed points. A friend was going to give me his Rola APX bars from his 2014 Accent but I was told that will not work on the 2015 version of Accent. Rhino-Rack RS 2500 Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points seems to be a good system for the money. Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack from Yakima seems too pricey. However, I also want to re-use my old Yakima Forklift Bike Racks that was fitted on my 2005 RAV4. I have a set of locks that I want to use for both the bike carriers and roof bars as well. My questions: 1. Will Yakima locks work on Whispbar Flush Bar Roof Rack? I rather carry one set of keys for both. 2. The price differential for the aero roof rack seems so far apart. Is Whispbar that much better? 3. Why wont Rola APX roof rack work for 2015 Accent? Thank you.

That is correct, the Rola roof rack with APX mounting system from a 2014 Hyundai Accent will not fit your 2015 Accent hatchback.

The Yakima locks would not work with the Rhino-Rack roof rack or the Rola roof rack. If your Yakima lock cores have SKS on them then they would fit the Whispbar bars. The ForkLift, # Y02098 will fit the Whispbar, Rhino-Rack, and Rola bars.

Whispbar is a top of the line all aluminum carrier (with the exception of the feet) with a more aerodynamic shape. Other roof racks are not of the same quality materials or as aerodynamic but still very good systems.
