Which hitch bike racks can I use with the Curt #C11701 trailer hitch on my 2009 Mercedes E350 Wagon? Is there a 4 bike option?

The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11701 is a Class 1 meaning that it has a two bike limit. In order to carry four bikes on your 2009 Mercedes-Benz E350 you will need both a hitch mount or trunk mount bike rack plus a roof rack.

For a hitch mount bike rack I recommend the Swagman Trailhead # S63360. A couple of benefits of this rack is the tilting feature that allows you access to your cargo area and it also has a 3 inch rise in the shank for more ground clearance.

If you are interested in locking your bikes and bike rack to your receiver, I recommend the Swagman Lock Combo # S64031. This set comes with an anti-rattle hitch lock to secure your rack to your receiver and a 7 foot cable that will secure your bikes to your rack.

When using a hanging bike rack and are planning on carrying either womens, childrens or alternative frame bikes I recommend the Swagman Easy-Out Adapter Bar # 64005. By using this adapter it will carry your bike level and provide ground clearance.

In order to carry the additional two bikes the roof rack I recommend is the Yakima Roof Rack, parts # Y00408, # Y03536 and # Y33TR. This roof rack will fit your E350 factory rails that run front to back.

Roof mount bike racks come in two configurations, either fork mount or wheel mount. For the fork mount bike rack I recommend the Yakima ForkLift # Y02098 and for the wheel mount I recommend the Yakima FrontLoader # Y02103. Both of these bike racks will fit the aforementioned Yakima roof rack crossbars or Mercedes factory crossbars.

To secure your roof rack to your vehicle, Yakima offers a Same Key Lock System # Y07206. This system comes with six cores and three keys.

I have attached brief installation videos of the Swagman TrailHead and bike adapter as well as the Yakima FrontLoader and RailGrab system.
