A Safe Ride is a Comfortable Ride

If you're looking for the best tie-downs for your camper, frame-mounted is the way to go. The frame is the most solid part of your entire vehicle, so it just makes sense to attach your camper to something that's not going to warp, bend, or twist. Even more importantly, the camper's center of gravity will sit lower and its weight will be spread across the entire bed. This avoids a top-heavy load perched on top of your bed rails that's liable to sway and get pushed around by crosswinds. The camper's not going to shift or slide around while you drive; it's going to stay put, and your truck is going to handle just like it does without a camper.

Quick Tip: If you have a plastic or spray-in bed liner, it's important that you use a rubber mat under the camper to eliminate any sliding or bouncing.

Don't Ruin Your Truck's Looks

how will tork lift tie downs look on my truck

Frame-mounted tie-downs are also a great pick for preserving your truck's good looks. The brackets install on the frame, tucked nearly flush with the underside of the vehicle. Remove the arms from the brackets when you're not hauling your camper, and the brackets will be barely visible.

Custom Fit, No-Drill Installation

Completely custom to your vehicle, the tie-downs attach to exisiting holes in your frame so that there's little to no drilling and no need for any modifications. Because they're custom, you'll want to use our in-house application guide to make sure you get the exact right model. The tie-downs you need might be different depending on what type of hitch or other accessories you have.

how to find the right tie down for my truck - custom camper tiedown

Securing Your Camper

TorkLift Tie Down Example

Once the tie-downs are installed, use a set of turnbuckles (sold separately) to secure the camper to the tie-downs. The shank on each arm has 2 pin holes so you can choose how far out they extend, that way the turnbuckles can reach the anchors on your camper without making contact with your truck. Tighten the turnbuckles to the correct level of tension (not too tight!).

where to put camper tie downs

Make sure the anchor points are offset from the tie-downs instead of lined up with them so that they will hold your camper from multiple angles. This is important for keeping your camper from shifting. Two holes in the attachment plate of the tie-downs let you find the best angle for you camper anchors.

TorkLift Camper Tie-Downs - Custom Frame Mount - Front - TLF2011

They do exactly what you think they'd do. I actually had to swap them from one truck to another (went from an double cab to a crew cab) and TorkLift actually sent me a whole new hardware kit. The hardest part is fishing the bolt/nut setup on the driver's side as the gas can is in the way, other than that it's easy peasy.

No complaints, rock solid design. We leave the camper on for over half the year these tie downs are the least of my worries.

The TorkLift Products need no review here, so my review is more in regard to etrailer's customer service...

I was in a hurry getting my rig set up for our new camper that was due to land at the dealer very soon.

So I purchased a complete set of TorkLift Tiedown mounts, both Front a Rear for my vehicle, along with a 4-pack of FastGun Turnbuckles.

The order was on hold due to the rear Torklifts on B/O and waiting for a production run to complete.

I spoke with Teresa in sales, and she had no problem splitting up the order and shipping what was in stock, right away.
She also issued a refund on the rear mounts that were on Backorder without any issues....Thank you Teresa!

The Expediting was quick and flawless as well.

Thank you etrailer team!

Bought front& back frame mount tie-downs & fast guns, love this setup. Not hard to install, all holes lined up, no drilling, especially like the spring wire that helps you install the bolt in the frame rail by the fuel tank. Good job etrailer for getting me the right parts

by:

Hi..it will be about 2 weeks before we attempt to put them on the truck and camper..I will write a review then..Fast shipping, I appreciate that

by:

Fit as advertised, relatively easy to install. Excellent step by step instructions. No bad glitches !
Overall excellent quality & great finish.

2001 Ford F-350 Super Duty

I got the front and rear TorkLift camper mounts for my 2001 f350 crew cab. With the factory tow hitch. They work perfectly fit is perfect both the front and rear bolted right on and were easy to install. Directions are very clear and love that they have some pictures too. I would one hundred percent recommend to anyone with this style truck. One thing that is a little tough to install is the lower left bolt on driver side next to gas tank. In directions it says to use feed wire to feed bolt in from bottom and into place. I found it was better to pull it from over the top of the frame and back down to the hole. You will still need to push a little on the gas tank but it works better from top down. It looks like there are some vent tubes or break lines in there between the hole and the gas tank so going from top gets it past them into place without a problem. Patients helps to lol. Thanks again TorkLift and Etrailer for another great product!!

2002 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

I bought my first set of torklift camper tiedowns 15 years ago. I am sure glad I did. I'm doing it again on another vehicle. They make traveling with a camper safe and secure. Also, they are not difficult to install. Delivery from etrailer was smooth and on time !

by:

Nicole at etrailer was sharp and the products - 5 stars for her

The Torklift instruction pictures are poor - look like they have been copied 100 times.
Front brackets were fairly straight forward - but had to remove a skid plate and loosen the fuel tank to install the drivers side.
Rear brackets needed to drill holes. T L should provide a drill template.

Haven’t used with the camper yet.

Still working great for us. Last year was tough with Covid and other things to limit our travels. We did still get quite a bit done and look forward to the coming travel season this year. Tie downs are on the truck and ready to go.

Recently made the decision to purchase a TC. With some suggestions from the dealer and some research on line, I purchased these tie downs. I called to speak to someone directly just to confirm I had the right part number for my application. Jesse was very helpful and watched the order to make sure it successfully shipped and arrived. They seem well made and instructions were easy to follow. Now all I need to do is pick up the TC!

All work as advertised. No issues. Would purchase again.

by:

Very happy with the rep that helped me and my item I purchased got here very quickly. He was very helpful and took his time to help me get my product ordered.

by:

The material and craftsmanship on these tiedowns is second to none. The fit and installation was a breeze.

by:

The mounts are great. They work very well. The instructions could be more easily interpreted if the pictures followed the instruction rather than one page of directions followed by several pages of photos and having to flip back and forth. The product is great though. I would not hesitate to by other products from this company.

1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty

TLF2011 fit my 1999 f-250 SD. Solid made steel. Bolts to frame for the most secure camper tie down available. Search UTube videos are best way to get in that one bugger of a bolt! Suggest getting the spring tension devices to prevent ripping out camper attachment points if camper sways suddenly due to uneven road or strong wind.

by:
2010 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Etrailer delivery was great. The torklift product F2011 on my 2010 F250 went along very easy, for a mildly experienced homeowner. One issue on the product. The 5/8 Hook Brackets that attach the device to the frame. I needed to use a metal file at a weld point so the 1/2 inch bolt would pass through. Torklift quality control really should have caught this issue. No big deal to correct with a metal file. May have held me up 5 minutes. Another issue with the product I found several pinpoint areas on the standard bent inserts that if left would break the skin. A tap with a wrench which was handy knocked them down. Just a finish issue. Looking forward to my Truck Camper in a couple of months when my custom built will be complete. On the bright side of the Torklift F2011 it went on with none of the problems seen on youtube. No fishing for bolts. Maybe it is just the 2010 Ford F250 build that fit well but made all the difference.

by:
2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty

I take my 4000 lb camper off road frequently and this hardware is strong enough to handle it. Very pleased with its performance. The ability to remove the brackets by pulling a pin out is another benefit.

by:
2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty

This is a great product for some. The YouTube installation video is somewhat misleading. The driver's side bracket mounting using the wire lead does not go as easily as depicted and in my case not at all (2002 Ford F350) because of brake lines. I would give the passenger side 5 stars and the driver side installation one star.
The etrailer people were great and shipped as promised.

by:
2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

Easy to install works well with my 95’ lance 11.5’ camper I also bought the turnbuckles

all questions i asked were answered very well.the camper torklift tie downs were all as described and no holes had to be drilled, easy to install. very helpful staff.

  • Installation of TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Front # TLF2011
When installing the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs - Front # TLF2011, you will not disconnect the emergency brake cable. You will go underneath the emergency brake cable with the driver's side bracket. You will need to make sure you work the emergency brake cable through each of the slots on the bracket to make sure it sits in place properly. I have attached a video illustrating the installation, the emergency brake cable is referred to at the 6:40 mark.
