TorkLift SuperTruss in SuperHitch

This SuperTruss hitch extender is specially designed to work with your SuperHitch trailer hitch (sold separately). Like most products from TorkLift, the primary purpose of this extender is to help create a towing setup that fits perfectly with your truck bed camper system. Not only will you be able to extend your trailer hitch receiver out far enough to clear the overhang of your camper, but you will also maintain a high enough weight capacity so that you can tow your trailer.

Heavy-Duty Towing with a Hitch Extension

Most hitch extensions dramatically reduce the towing capacity of your hitch setup, making it difficult to tow a loaded trailer over a certain weight. The SuperTruss, though, creates such a sturdy connection with your SuperHitch trailer hitch that you can still maintain a high weight capacity. To get the highest capacity possible, use a standard weight distribution system with the TorkLift towing setup.

The SuperTruss uses both of the receivers on your TorkLift SuperHitch to ensure a sturdy, secure connection. The solid shank of the extension's top tube slides into your top receiver, and the extension's lower compression tube installs in your bottom receiver. Each tube is held in place with the hitch pins and clips that were included with your SuperHitch. The connection between the extension and your hitch is reinforced with 2 sturdy steel collars that bolt around the tubes of the SuperTruss.

To give you absolute peace of mind, lateral support chains connect to the hitch and the extension on either side of your setup. Just attach one end of each chain to the extension and secure the opposite end to your SuperHitch. Then tighten the chains with the integrated turnbuckles. These chains not only provide extra security to keep the extension in place in your hitch, but they also transfer some of the weight back from the extension to your frame-mounted hitch.

How to Determine the SuperTruss Length You Need

If the camper is mounted on the truck:

Measure from the face of the truck's rear bumper to the outside edge of the camper's bumper. This is the length of the extension that you need.

If the camper is not mounted on the truck:

1. Measure from the inside of the front of your truck bed to the outside face of the truck's rear bumper.

2. Measure the camper's overall floor length from the rubber bumpers at the front to the outside edge of the rear bumper.

3. Find the difference between these 2 figures by subtracting. The difference is the length of the extension that you need.

I needed a way to pull my 24 ft car trailer with my truck camper on,after researching extensively I kept coming back to the Supertruss extension, I couldn't be happier first trip out was 1200 miles and everything performed exactly as advertised.

Still the best option out there, weve towed the 24fter car hauler and never once had a problem, planning a trip to Arizona this winter and using the Torklift products

by:

Very Heavy duty and works as promised. I use it to extend my hitch on my 2012 Ram 3500 when I have my Lance 855s camper on the truck. It allows me to tow my Jeep on the trailer behind me. I also have the TorkLift super hitch on the truck which allows me to tow the loaded trailer with peace of mind. The system of superhitch and supertruss work perfectly together and I highly recommend.

by:

Allowed me to safely tow a utility trailer with my truck camper on the truck

by:

Very heavy duty. Haven’t towed with it yet. But, it should more than handle my 7x12 enclosed trailer with my HD and kayaks in it, while hauling my slide in truck camper.

by:

Delivery was exactly as advertised and products were spot on. Price was good and I appreciate the speed in getting what I needed. Will shop with you again on future needs.

FIT AS DESCRIBED

by:

We have a truck camper and pull a 3 horse trailer. The hitch extension has worked very well.

by:

Great product very pleased with this hitch setup no worries now about pulling a jetboat with my camper mounted on my pickup

by:

Perfect! Allows me to tow a fairly heavy trailer with my Arctic Fox on the back of my truck. Only hitch extension I would trust.

by:

I was impressed with how quickly my order was processed. I have owned a shorter version of the hitch extension, so I knew I would get a good product. Very happy with all involved.

by:

Great service! Fast delivery! Great pro ducts!

by:

The item installed easily. Now I carry bicycles on the front of my truck.

by:

Lots of comments on it

I messed up measurements

by:

  • Hitch and Extension Recommendation for 2017 GMC Sierra Long Bed With Truck Bed Camper
With a 10-1/2 foot long camper, you'll want a 32 inch extension. The # TLE1648 TorkLift Cannon Hitch Extension you'd looked at is only compatible with the Ford OEM 3 inch receiver hitch. The best solution for you will depend on the weight of what you're towing. If a 4500 lb towing (6000 lb if used with weight distribution) capacity will work for you and your Sierra has a 2-1/2 inch hitch, the Reese Titan Hitch Extension, part # RP45292 would be recommended. For a higher capacity, you'd...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution & Hitch Extender to Towing a Camper and Trailer with 2015 Chevy 3500
For your situation, I cannot recommend you use a hitch extender like # ST18 and a longer weight distribution shank, but I do have a couple solutions for you. A hitch extender like # ST18, will not be able to support the weight of your trailer and weight distribution system. This extender maxes out at 700lbs TW when used with a weight distribution system which we have figured your trailer alone will have max 600-900lbs when loaded and you have to account for the weight of the system which...

Go big or go home with a 3500 dually! You will be able to use the longer extensions like the two listed below you mentioned in your prior questions. You're welcome Chris! Sounds like you've more then got the hitch covered. I can not think of a better option then the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Trailer Hitch item # TL74FR. You will be able to pull anything and everything with this hitch and it gives you the most options for capacity on extensions. Additionally, down the road if you need a heavy duty weight distribution system the highest capacity one is the TorkLift SuperHitch Everest item # TLWD1000. It only works with TorkLift's Dual...

  • Hitch For 2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty to Add 30 Inch Hitch Extender
I can certainly understand not wanting to change hitches on your 2001 Ford F-250, but the only way to safely utilize a hitch extension that long is to replace your Ford's hitch with a TorkLift hitch, and use one of the TorkLift extensions. Assuming your '01 F-250 does have the standard bumper, what you will need in order to do this are the following: - TorkLift SuperHitch Original Trailer Hitch Receiver # TLF1002 - TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension - 28" Long # TLE1528 or 32" Long #...

The hitch opening location for the Torklift Hitch part # TLF1002-30 that you referenced will be very close to where you current hitch opening is. If the 28 extension part # TLE1528 would work well based on your current measurements it would be a great choice with the Torklift hitch. Or if you need the 32 inch you would want the part # TLE1532.

As far as the extension you will need to measure the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the camper to see what length extension you will need. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Extension for 2004 Ford F-350 with Truck Bed Camper Towing a Trailer
Hitch extensions over 18 inches aren't very common because of the stress and torque they put on the trailer hitch and vehicle frame. For a 30 inch extension, the first place we will want to start is with your truck's trailer hitch. In order to find an extension this long, you must have a Class V trailer hitch with a 2-1/2 inch hitch opening.
