At first when I opened the product, I thought that it might have been too small. My car has only 2-doors, so I was skeptical how it was going to hold. I was also concerned about my antenna location. With the adapter, it really looks good on the car, and really solid as well. It does leak a little when it rains out, but a little rain isn't going to stop me from having fun, and I expected it to leak a little from the mounts in between the door panel. I can't wait to add the kayak carriers onto it. I haven't ordered those parts yet, but will soon. here are a few pics to look at. I recommend it.

What number is the front and rear set to. I have my front 20 and rear 19 like the book says and one side goes off the car.

I bought the roof rack for my Toyota Solara to transport a 50 lb kayak to and from the water. I've used the rack perhaps 50 days so far. It performed as you would hope: no failures. What surprised me was how well it performs on the interstate. I wouldn't recommend taking it over 80 mph, but anything up to that point is incredibly stable.

Some cons: the rack is at its most outreached point, so that the caps are all that's holding it in place. My quick, cheap and effective fix was to use those flat rubber bungees from one cap to another. Another lightly irritating part is that the metal rubs up against the top of the window while driving, creating a chirping squeaking noise. Roll the window down to just below this point and you should be able to avoid a lot of road noise as well as the rubbing noise. The initial setup was lengthy, maybe an hour. Since getting it set up right though, taking it off is 5 minutes and putting it on is 10 minutes.

Overall review: you get what you pay for. Not the greatest removable roof rack out there, but for the price, you get a pretty good deal.

As I said in your other review it is a semi custom part so it wont be a perfect fit.

Love the product just don't like the issue of it coming loose after a while

by:

I needed the short rack for an Acura Integra. Has worked out really well!

by:

This was an excellent product for my Lexus SC300 (curved roof + 2 Door), I was skeptical at first, but I have no complaints!

by:

Good. Product just needs to be longer for people using to transport kayaks

  • Recommended Roof Rack Compatible with 1997 Nissan Extended Cab Pickup
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack SR1004 is no longer available as the manufacturer discontinued it. However, it was a confirmed fit for your 1997 Nissan Pickup with extended cab. It can only be used for skis or snowboards and will have a 17 inch spacing unless you use the Short-Roof Adapter for SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Racks # SR1116 which will also give you a 23-1/2 inch crossbar spread. It will not mount to the rear vent windows. If you do not already have the roof rack, the...

  • Snow Board Carrier and Description of How SportRack Roof Rack Works on 1995 Honda Civic Coupe
If you look at the photo one of our customers submitted, you'll get a better idea of how the SportRack # SR1003 roof rack and the # SR1116 Short Roof Adapter fit together. Because your vehicle is a coupe and there's not a second set of doors at the rear of the vehicle, without the short roof adapter the crossbars would mount so close together, they couldn't be used for anything. The adapter provides side rails and another set of clamps that allow the rear crossbar to be moved rearward a...

  • Roof Rack and Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 1997 Honda Civic Coupe
The best economically priced roof rack option we have for a 1997 Honda Civic is the Sportrack roof rack that consists of part numbers # SR1003 and # SR1116. This rack has a short roof adapter that comes with it that allows the bars to be spaced a bit further out but still the spread is a bit close at 23-1/2 inches. To carry a kayak on your car, SportRack offers kayak carrier # SR5511. This carrier has a kayak weight limit of 75 lbs.

  • SportRack Roof Rack to Fit the 2013 Nissan Juke
Your 2013 Nissan Juke isn't a long vehicle by any means but it does have plenty of space to mount the SportRack roof rack, part # SR1010. So you don't need the short-roof adapter, part # SR1116, like some vehicles do. According to the roof rack's installation details, which I've linked on this page for you, the front crossbar should sit 10 inches towards the windshield from the door seam (measurement A) and the rear crossbar sits 26 inches behind the front crossbar (measurement B). According to my contact at Sportrack your 2008 Subaru Legacy Sedan can be fitted with their roof rack # SR1008 without need for the short roof adapter # SR1116. The installation instructions are linked for your reference. • Recommended Roof Rack System For 1999 Honda Civic Coupe
For your 1999 Honda Civic Coupe, you will need the SportRack Semi Custom Roof Rack # SR1003 along with the Short-Roof Adapter # SR1116. This is required for you to have the strength and stability needed on your 2 door Civic because of the short roof and curved roofline. If you want to have a taller kit, I recommend using the Yakima Roof Rack consisting of: Yakima CoreBar Crossbars - Steel - Black - 50" Long - Qty 2 # Y00421 BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4 #...

Your SportRack Roof Rack # SR1010 for your 1998 Honda Civic 4-Door does not have accessory side bars that can be added. In some applications on vehicles with short and/or curved roof lines what is known as a short roof adapter, part # SR1116, is required to properly secure the rack on such vehicles. • Will SportRack # SR1002 Fit 2010 Chevrolet Malibu With Naked Roof
The SportRack Semi-Custom Roof Rack for Naked Roofs, part # SR1002 is a fit for your 2010 Malibu. The rack can accommodate a variety of accessories, and includes locks to secure the rack to the roof of your vehicle. The weight capacity of this rack is 130 lbs, but you would be limited to the capacity of your roof if it is less than that.
