8-1/8" Wide x 5" tall x 3/4" deep, four-pass, tube-fin heat exchanger improves the longevity and overall functioning of your vehicle's power steering system. High quality copper tubing with aluminum fins.

Features:

  • Cuts back on heat-related pump failures
  • Extends the life of both pump and seal
  • Designed with copper tubing expanded into aluminum fins for maximum heat transfer
    • Copper is the best material for conducting the heat out of the fluid while aluminum is ideal for transferring and dissipating that heat
  • Provides protection during installation with extruded plastic fin guards
  • Includes 4' of 11/32" rubber hose with 4 stainless steel clamps and all necessary mounting hardware
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Inlets: 11/32" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 8-1/8" wide x 5" tall x 3/4" deep
  • Core length: 5-1/4"
  • Distance between inlets: 3-3/4"
  • 1-Year warranty

Perhaps the simplest type of heat exchanger, the tube-fin effectively cools a variety of automotive systems. The concept is simple: Fluid cools as it travels through the core by transferring heat out to the fins. The fins then provide the surface area necessary for sufficient heat exchange to take place, allowing the heat pulled from the fluid to dissipate into the surrounding air. Quick, easy and effective.

2009 Honda Odyssey

1. High quality
Good Year hose and decent real hose clamps
2. I'm not a fan of "through the condensor-rad zap straps"; I made up aluminum brackets and mounted the tranny cooler and power steering cooler with 1/4" bolts (nylock nuts) to the bumper so it was about 1/2" from condensor.
3. Hose size matched Honda factory size perfectly. Hoses were a tight fit, so I used pliers to rotate oiled hose back and forth over the nipple while I pushed very hard.
4. power steering cooler: NO mounts so I used 3 insulated wire clamps clamped over the tubing to mount it to an aluminum U-shaped-bracket. I cut the pwr steering factory line, flared the end and used the factory hose with a formed 90° bend into the top of the pwr strg cooler. I later (not in pic) used more aluminum to move pwr strg cooler back closer to condensor. The plastic end caps you mounted on the power steering cooler seemed flimsy and loose.

I am confident I will have a reliable journey through Yosemite, Death Valley and Tahoe over the next 2 weeks.

Thank you.

this is exactly what I needed and works extremely well

I bought the PS cooler for my Honda Odyssey so I could tow a trailer without voiding the warranty. While towing, you are usually required to turn off your overdrive. This makes the engine spin a little faster and increase the heat of the PS fluid. I was able to tow a small 4x8 uhaul trailer from Denver to San Diego without any problems. I also installed a "plate/ fin" transmission cooler from the 8000 series I believe. Towing a trailer can really add a lot of heat to your trans so this is a must too. I really must say I like the videos you post on YouTube to help installation. I watched them to the point I had them memorized! It's a tricky and tight job but something a good backyard mechanic can handle. I also bought my trailer hitch from Etrailer. Everything worked perfectly. One suggestion is to buy two packages of the trans cooler hose because it can be tough to find out in town if you need a little more. I highly recommend this setup and Etrailer is great to deal with.

Everything is still working as originally installed. No leaks or loosening of the tie down straps detected. My complaint would be with Honda for not installing both coolers as original equipment. The Honda PS cooler is completely inadequate for towing. It actually is just a piece of tubing in the airflow in front of the radiator. The Honda front end is a very tight package so you need a nice clean garage where you can take everything apart and not be rushed. Watch those videos too before beginning the project

So far this has been excellent.. only thing I don't like is the design for mounting.. they expect you to mount it to the radiator with a special type of zip tie.. mine have held on but what if you need to replace your radiator?

Still working perfectly

by:

Installed today on 2007 Honda Odyssey. Went OK, not great. Removed top panel, bottom splash guard, and grill, but left bumper and bumper cover on and that seemed to work just fine and saved me some time. These zip rods are a pain and it only came with 2? Needs at least 3. Its square. How are just two suppose to secure this thing sufficiently? I had to add my own regular zip ties. But, even worse, the kit doesn't come with enough hose. I know its a universal kit, but how much would it raise the price to include a couple extra feet of line? Now, I have to go find some more line at a local store and pay the brick and mortar premium. The factory line from the ps res isn't long enough to bend 180 and run back out to this cooler. disappointing, but really not the fault of the product I guess since its a universal kit.

Now, for the real test- towing to the max 3500lbs for a two month, 4000 miles road trip. if I still have a working ps pump after that, I will give it the 5 stars.

Great product, great price. Still good after a year, have made many more orders from etrailer since. High quality, great price and fast shipping and easy to follow videos and instructions. What more can you ask for?

by:

Arrived in great shape! Had dealer install it along with Transmission cooler. Took about 4 hours for dealer to install both coolers, so thankful I didn't try to do it on my own.

by:

Had this in our Honda Pilot now for over a year. Easy installation, had no problems. Been a game changer having a trailer and being able to haul stuff around.

by:

I've had this part installed in my van for about a year and it worked out just fine. It was easy to install too, the videos from the website were helpful. I would recommend these products to anyone....

by:

I installed this on my 2007 Honda Pilot and it worked great. No problems at all with install. Be sure and watch the e Trailer video on the installation.

by:

After researching the correct part for my application, etrailer had the best price. Ordering was easy and the parts arrived in 3 days.

by:

A year later, the PS cooler still works great on my 2006 Honda Pilot.

by:

Easy install. Your videos were a big he lp.

by:

Installation went well. good product

by:

The coolers were well made and easy to install. They are working well.

Still working well. Very worthwhile product.

by:

This went in relatively easy. I had to buy larger hose to connect to the car, as the hose that came with it was too small to connect in the car.

I've had this in for over a year, and have towed twice in that time, no problems at all.

by:

Professional installed. Working well after 1 year. Expect it to keep working.

by:

Great fit, easy to install. Needed to purchase longer hose to complete install.

by:

Worked fine, went in easily.

by:

Great products and even better instructional videos

by:

Product shipped extremely quickly. Packaged well and box delivered by UPS in great condition. Have yet to install

by:

have not installed yet but customer service and shipping time was excellent.

by:

good deal, fast

by:

Easy install, better than OEM cooler.

Exactly what I expected.

  • Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Coolers for a 2019 Honda Pilot
The best transmission cooler you can possibly add is the largest one you have space for. You really can't cool transmission fluid too much. For your 2019 Honda Pilot I recommend the Derale Series 8000, part # D13503. We installed it in a 2017 and it worked well. I've linked the video. For a power steering cooler the Derale 2-pass tube-fin cool, part # D13200, is a great choice. You could upgrade to a 4-pass, like part # D13212, but it's likely more than what you need.

  • What Power Steering Cooler Is Recommended On A 2005 Honda Odyssey
The choice of power steering cooler for your 2005 Honda Odyssey will depend on the amount of room you will have to mount the heat exchanger on your vehicle. The power steering cooler will be installed inline with the power steering pump and the heat exchanger will need to be located in a position where it can get airflow to help cool the fluid. Since you are installing a transmission cooler also, you will want to make sure you will have room for both the transmission cooler heat exchanger...

  • Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2006 Honda Odyssey
I have listed the parts you will need for your 2006 Honda Odyssey to complete your towing setup for towing a travel trailer with trailer brakes. For a brake controller I recommend Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller, # 90195. This is one of our most popular brake controllers and the easiest to use and setup. To wire the Prodigy brake controller on your 2006 Honda Odyssey you will need to have a 4-Pole trailer connector on your vehicle. Then, you will have to hardwire the brake controller...

  • Does an Oil Cooler Install on the Supply or Return Lines on a Scag Tire Cub Zero Turn Mower
Cooler # D13212 is actually a power steering cooler. It could still be used as an oil cooler but you would have to tap into an oil line somewhere since this cooler does not come with a spin-on or sandwich oil filter adapter. Usually supplemental coolers are installed on the return line. You would only need one cooler the size of which is up to you but we generally say to go with the largest that will fit.

  • Cooler Options to Prepare 2011 Buick Enclave CXL for Trailer Towing
According to the online information I found for your 2011 Buick Enclave CXL with front-wheel-drive, the vehicle is rated for a maximum trailer weight of 2000-lbs unless it is equipped with the trailer towing package, in which case its towing capacity increases to 4500-lbs. Both of the 2-inch hitches we offer for your Enclave have a 5000-lb towing capacity but since the vehicle is rated lower, that lower vehicle towing capacity becomes your actual working limit. The hitch I recommend is...

The installation of a power steering cooler is not that difficult. The hardest part is finding the space to locate the heat exchanger on the vehicle. Yes, you could use the Derale Power Steering Cooler part # D13212 as a supplemental power steering cooler for your 2008 Honda Pilot. This cooler could be used as a standalone power steering cooler, or if you have a factory cooler already you could use this in conjunction with that one as well. • Recommended Supplementary Transmission Cooler for 2012 Honda Ridgeline
Oil, transmission and power steering fluid coolers all can lessen the stress on a vehicle that is asked to tow a trailer. These items are especially important if the tow vehicle is to be used near it's maximum towing capacity. Of these three the transmission cooler is most critical and even on vehicles like your Ridgeline that have an OEM cooler adding a supplemental cooler to further drop the temperature of the transmission fluid is an excellent way to help prolong the life of your vehicle's...

  • Power Steering Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab
I had a power steering fluid leak on my car and it ended up being a hose issue that was covered under a recall. This may be something you can look into by calling a dealer and asking about open recalls on your year and model Ram. If you do need to replace the cooler I would go with something larger like the Derale 4-Pass Tube-Fin Power Steering Cooler, # D13212. For the most efficiency in cooling, mount the cooler in front of the A/C condenser core in front of the radiator.

The cooler you selected is a good choice but for the kit use # D13212. It includes mounting hardware, hose clamps, and hose. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

  • Adding an Engine Oil Cooler and a Power Steering Cooler to a 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4.0L V6
Thanks for asking about a Power Steering Cooler and Engine Oil cooler for your 2007 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6. Adding two more coolers is not going to present a cooling issue for your engine/radiator. The coolers allow air to flow through them and will not transfer enough heat to the air going through them to effect the cooling performance of the vehicle's radiator. Your engine oil filter has 3/4-16 threads. So you can determine the correct threads to use from the recommended kits below,...

Power Steering coolers are not vehicle specific items, so any cooler that fits in front of the radiator or air conditioning condenser on your 2000 Mazda B3000 Pickup would be a good choice. The larger the cooler is the better it will perform so I recommend getting the largest cooler that will fit easily. Measuring is required. • Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Coolers for 2019 Ford Explorer
Yes, the general wisdom on supplementary fluid coolers for towing vehicles is that the transmission is top priority followed by the power steering system.
