Today we're taking a look at a nylon snap bushing. Now, this snap bushing converts raw edge metal holes to smooth insulated holes. It snaps and locks into holes with fingertip pressure, and it does a great job at protecting any type of wiring or cabling that's running through it. Pushback force of 35 pounds. With this part number you get one snap bushing. It fits into a 7/16th inch diameter mount hole, and when it comes to the actual part dimensions, inside it offers a usable space of a quarter inch, that's the diameter measurement of the opening.
The head diameter, which is outer edge to out edge of the portion that's visible here at the head, that's 17/32nds of an inch, and edge to edge going this direction, front to back it measures 13/32nds of an inch long. That's going to do it for today's look at the nylon snap bushing.

I would recommend purchasing this grommet. It makes the install look professional and will prevent the wire getting chafed from the metal hole.

- Options For Running Black 12V Wire Thru The Firewall On A 2022 Ford Bronco SportGenerally we have not had issues when running a single wire thru the grommet in the firewall. In most cases there is room to get the wire thru without risk of pinching. If you do not have room and do not want to take that risk, I recommend making a separate hole and adding a Nylon Snap Bushing like the # SWC8052-1. This way the wire will be protected and you will not run any risk of a short.
