Specs:
One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Derale series, 8,000 Power Steering Cooler Kit. This is going to cool down the fluid running between your power steering pump and your steering box, which will prolong the life of your power steering. It's also going to help improve the overall performance of your power steering, and that's going to help prevent any heat related failures of your power steering system. It's got a furnace brazed aluminum construction with increased surface area so that those fluids can spread out along the fin chambers to cool faster.
It also features 3-1/4" wide turbulator plates that are going to agitate the fluid continuously. So not only are you going to facilitate more heat transfer for more efficient cooling, but it's also going to prevent any sort of undesirable drop in fluid pressure. The kit does include all of the materials that you're going to need to get this mounted, including a 4ft long OEM hose, and your steel brackets here. As far as the weight capacity or the vehicle that this is designed for, it's probably more for your midsize SUVs and trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 15,500 pounds or less. So definitely not anything bigger than that. We do have several measurements for you here.
These two inlets are 11/30", hose barbs or overall dimension. We're going to be looking at about 11" wide, 6" tall and right about 7" deep. The distance between our inlets here from center to center is going to be right at 10-1/4". And our mounting dimensions, you can see we've got these pre-drilled holes here. So inside the side, center to center, we're looking at about 6-3/4" there, and then right about, I'll hold it down here for you so you can see better, about 4-1/2" in that direction. This does come with a one-year warranty from Derale, so it's nice to know that they stand behind their products.
Now, if this isn't the product that you need, maybe you've got a bigger vehicle that you're looking for. I'd encourage you to come take at our other options here at etrailer.com. We've got lots of different products and our goal is always to make sure that you're getting the product that you need to solve your problem, so that's why we provide all this information. We want to make sure that you're getting the product that you want the first time. That's going to complete our look at the Derale series, 8,000 power steering cooling kit..
