The installation of a power steering cooler is not that difficult. The hardest part is finding the space to locate the heat exchanger on the vehicle. The cooler is connected to the low pressure line coming from the power steering pump using the included hardware.

The choice of power steering cooler for your 2008 Honda Pilot will depend on the amount of room you will have to mount the heat exchanger on your vehicle. The power steering cooler will be installed inline with the power steering pump and the heat exchanger will need to be located in a position where it can get airflow to help cool the fluid.

For your Pilot, I would recommend either the Derale 2-Pass Power Steering Cooler, # D13200, which allows the fluid to pass through the heat exchanger two times to cool down the fluid. The heat exchanger on this model has a dimension of 12-5/8 inches wide x 2-1/2 inches tall x 3/4 inch deep.

Also, the Derale 4-Pass Power Steering Cooler, # D13212, that you have referenced, is a good choice if you have the room for the taller heat exchanger. It lets the fluid flow through the heat exchanger four times, which cools down the fluid even better then the 2-Pass cooler, but the heat exchanger is taller. It measures 8-1/8 inches wide x 5 inches tall x 3/4 inch deep.

So if you have room for the # D13212 Derale 4-Pass cooler, that would be the first choice.
