Are you a weekend warrior or often on the go, traveling from RV park to RV park and thirst for a quick and convenient way to get clean, safe, and great tasting water to your rig? Perhaps you don't have the space for a permanent setup or like the idea of altering your RV to get the perfect fit. Maybe you just don't want to hassle with your RV's plumbing. If that's the case, the Clearsource Ultra may be the answer for you. This 3-stage, outdoor system was designed to be set up and taken down fast, giving you a convenient filtering system for a one-night stay, weekend getaway, or extended stay trip at any campground. Its sturdy, corrosion-resistant frame and base were built to withstand the elements while allowing you to set up on the ground or any flat surface.

The system filters your water three separate times. The first stage filter is designed with radial structure technology that has larger grooves than flat filters to capture more rust and sediment. The second stage filter is a 0.5-micron coconut shell carbon block filter that catches harmful chemicals like insecticides, pesticides, chloramines, volatile organic compounds, and other solvents to improve the taste and smell of your water. The third stage features a one-of-a-kind VirusGuard filter that uses a special coating to trap microscopic contaminants, such as E. Coli, the Giardia cyst, and viruses including Hepatitis A, giving you advanced protection against all the bad stuff. Whether you're drinking a tall glass of water, rinsing off in the shower, or washing dishes after dinner, the Clearsource Ultra will give you the peace of mind you need.

What is a Micron

Furrion

A micron is a unit of measurement equal to 0.0001 cm and is often used to define the size of water contaminants. Some of the most common contaminants are sediment, silt, bacteria, and the Giardia cyst. Micron levels, or pores in water filters, are typically between 0.5 to 5 microns, and in some cases as low as 0.2 microns. A common misconception of water filters is that the higher the micron rating, the better the filter. It's actually the opposite. While a 5.0-micron filter can sift out rust and sediment, a filter with a 0.5-micron rating can filter out insecticides, pesticides, chloramines, and volatile organic compounds. Lower micron filters can also trap heavy metals and the more harmful microscopic water contaminants, such as E. Coli, the Giardia cyst, Legionella, and viruses including Hepatitis A, giving you cleaner, safer, and better tasting water.

It’s been great. Filters are brown when I change them out so it’s doing it’s job

by:

Got to camp sight and hooked it up and got good flow with no leaks. We will know in 6 months how well it did. So far so good.

by:

I have spent a lot of money on water filters in the last 15 years and none of them took all of the bad smells or taste out of my water at the RV parks. I found the Clearsource Ultra RV water filters with 3 canisters and it’s like drinking bottled water. It’s amazing and I highly recommend this system !!

by:

We finally got the water filter!!! I have to say it's big and heavy but that's not a bad thing. I placed it on a 24"x30" piece of plywood and screwed it down to keep it from tipping over. The quality is amazing I really like the stainless steel fittings. We're so glad we bought it !!

I love shopping at etrailer. You can see live updates on what is going on with your order and they process and ship your order extremely fast. As far the filters themselves I have not had a chance to use them but they offered a lot more filtering options than some cheaper substitutes.

by:

Excellent filter -- and arrived when promised! Couldn't ask for anything more.

See what our Experts say about this Clearsource RV Water Filter

  • Storage of RV with a Water Filter System
For storage of RV with a water filter system such as the Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System, # CS87FR, you should consider removing the filters from the canisters and blowing out the system with pressurized air using the Valterra RV Blow Out Plug, # P23518LFVP. Do not exceed 30 psi. Allow the filter to dry out and store in a cool dry location. You can do this many times during the camping season but I recommend you not re-use after a long off-season of winter storage.

  • Changing The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filters
We recommend that you change the filters in your Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System w/ VirusGuard, # CS87FR each camping season unless water source requires more frequently. For storing the RV between uses you should consider removing the filters from the canisters and blowing out the system with pressurized air using the Valterra RV Blow Out Plug, # P23518LFVP. Do not exceed 30 psi. Allow the filter to dry out and store in a cool dry location until the next trip.

  • Can The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System Remove Iron From Water
It can most definitely help. The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System w/ VirusGuard - 3 Canister - Outdoor # CS87FR will catch the larger parts of oxidized iron in the 5 micron filter. A sub micron filter like the .5 filter in the middle of this system will also be able to catch and filter out some of the iron precipitate that can be in water. The only other way would be to get a water softener system that uses salt to remove the dissolved metals and minerals from water.

  • Are Filters for Clearsource Ultra and Nomad Water Filter Systems the Same
The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System w/ VirusGuard # CS87FR uses the replacement filter kit # CS49FR while the Clearsource Nomad RV Water Filter System w/ VirusGuard # CS67FR uses the replacement filter kit # CS39FR. The Replacement 2nd Stage Water Filter # CS29FR is the correct 2nd stage replacement filter for the Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System # CS87FR and the Clearsource Onboard Pro RV Water Filter System # CS59FR. The filter elements on these systems are all 2.5-inch x 10-inch cartridges. If you have one of those systems then this will work. • Is The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System Designed For Occasional Use/ Tips For Storage
The Clearsource Ultra RV Water Filter System # CS87FR really is designed for "weekend warriors" such as yourself, who would only be using it occasionally, and are not living in the camper full time. It is very easy to set up and take down, and it is pretty lightweight, at least as far as water filtration systems go. We do not recommend leaving it full when in storage though. What you will want to do is remove the filters and blow out the system with pressurized air (do not exceed 30 PSI)....

  • Preventing Scale in RV Water Tank
What you are seeing is scale, this is a buildup of minerals inside of your water heater, calcium and magnesium are usually the primary minerals but it is probably others as well. Regular flushing of your tank as you have done is good thing, but this is coming from the water source. The purpose of the anode rod is to help protect the steel water heater tanks from corroding.
