This 3-stage, indoor system has a first-stage filter designed with radial structure technology that has larger grooves than flat filters to capture more rust and sediment. The second stage filter is a 0.5-micron coconut shell carbon block filter that catches harmful chemicals like insecticides, pesticides, chloramines, volatile organic compounds, and other solvents to improve the taste and smell of your water. The third stage features a one-of-a-kind VirusGuard filter that uses a special coating to trap microscopic contaminants, such as E. Coli, the Giardia cyst, and viruses including Hepatitis A, giving you advanced protection against all the bad stuff. Whether you're drinking a tall glass of water, rinsing off in the shower, or washing dishes after dinner, the Clearsource Onboard Pro will give you the peace of mind you need.
What is a Micron
A micron is a unit of measurement equal to 0.0001 cm and is often used to define the size of water contaminants. Some of the most common contaminants are sediment, silt, bacteria, and the Giardia cyst. Micron levels, or pores in water filters, are typically between 0.5 to 5 microns, and in some cases as low as 0.2 microns. A common misconception of water filters is that the higher the micron rating, the better the filter. It's actually the opposite. While a 5.0-micron filter can sift out rust and sediment, a filter with a 0.5-micron rating can filter out insecticides, pesticides, chloramines, and volatile organic compounds. Lower micron filters can also trap heavy metals and the more harmful microscopic water contaminants, such as E. Coli, the Giardia cyst, Legionella, and viruses including Hepatitis A, giving you cleaner, safer, and better tasting water.

This is about installation only, I haven't had time to actually use the system, but I know it's going to do exact ally what i need it to do. Filter my incoming water. While I usually don't drink water out of the faucet, I do use the water to make coffee or flavored drinks. Installation was easy, unit has some weight so it helps to have someone hold the unit while it's being mounted. Looks great and is out of the way. I was able to put water cutoffs and a bypass valve for when I change out the filters. Thanks etrailer for the fast shipment.

Very solidly built and easy to maintain. We have it wall-mounted in a shed with our other well water equipment and we supply the trailer from there.
In our application flow from right to left would have been more convenient than left to right. I was informed reversing the flow by switching the filter bodies would not work. Keep this in mind when planning your installation.
