Hey everyone, it's Evangeline from etrailer and I'm not exactly at etrailer right now. We're at the campsite out camping and talking about some of our favorite etrailer products. And one of those products we're gonna talk about is the Clearsource Water Filter. This is going to be the Premier water filter that has two canisters, filters your input water, and brings out nice clean water that you can even use to drink. There's a bunch of different water filter options for different types of adventures and the Premier is a great outdoor water filter that has a lot of filtering action so an upgrade from your smaller filters but it's still portable and you don't have to permanently install it. You just keep it inside a bag, bring it out for when you're camping and pack it up when you're ready to go.

Now, the most important thing about your filter system is how well does it work. So I put up a little rig here and this is definitely not gonna be how it looks with your RV when are you out camping, but just to see how well our Clearsource filters actually filters. So I have the Clearsource Premiere so let's get some pond water and see how it works out. So here we have our pond water and there's definitely a lot of debris in this water. Now we also have a pump, and this is gonna have a 50 mesh so most of that plant life is not gonna get through our filters, but a lot of the smaller things will.

So let's start that pump up. So I sanitize my hands real quick before we continue and let's turn this pump on. All right, let's see how it tastes. Hmm. It actually tastes pretty good.

So you have two canisters here, and there's a first step and a second step. The first step uses a coconut shell carbon filter. This is gonna be your five-micron filter, and that's what takes out the sediments, the pesticides, insecticides, things like that. If you wanna improve the taste and smell of your water, that first step is very important. Now, for the really harmful bacteria, though, that's where the second step filter comes in handy.

This has a .2-micron filter which is really, really, really small, so things like E. coli or Legionella, that's what this filters out. Many filters have that first step which takes out the metals and the chemicals, but that second step is what you really want for that bacteria. Now, how many times do you have to change out your filters Well, this has a capacity, or you just need to change it around 2,000 gallons per filter. So if you're a seasonal camper, you only go out a couple times a year, then change it once a year before camping season. If you go out on the weekends, you're a weekend warrior, then every three to six months seems like a good plan then. But if you're a lone docker or you regularly camp, you're a full-time RVer, at least every three months is the way to go. So the amount of pressure you have at the campsite can be different every now and then depending on if everyone's using the water or if the campsite is empty and no one's using the water. So the operating pressure is 25 psi all the way up to a hundred psi, which is a lot for a campground. Ideally, though, you want it at around 40 to 65 psi. Because of that, I recommend adding a pressure regulator to your water hookup. I keep it at around 55. That's a good, nice balance pressure all the time. So if you need to fill up a lot of water bottles before you head out, then you need to make sure that you have fast flow rate for your drinking water filters. In fact, the full rate for this if you have 40 psi is 6.5 gallons per minute. You can safely fill up six-gallon jugs in a single minute with this filter. And then a quick look at some of the extra features they have that are an upgrade from your current filter setup is you have stainless steel fittings, definitely an upgrade from plastic fittings because they're more secure and they're more sanitary. You have this lightweight but also very sturdy frame. This is powder coated too and that way, you can just set it on the ground or on a table easily. And then these blue canisters, well, they are FDA grade so if that's what your water is filtering through, you wanna make sure that they're clean. They're also oversized, which means your water filters through faster. If you need to take them off, they even give you a handy canister tool. While this is portable, you're gonna have to figure out where you're gonna store it. So you measure from the fittings on the outside. So for width, it's about 15 and a half inches wide. For height, it's gonna be 15 inches tall, a little past 15 inches tall, like 15 and an eight. And then for depth, that's going to be seven and a half inches deep. And if you don't wanna have to deal with just carrying it around all the time or figuring out a tote situation, you can get the custom fit case for it. So even with the hoses on, it fits around your water filter, making it so much easier to carry, store and use. So this is how easily it stores inside your basement. Now for that reason, I personally recommend getting the case so that all of this is clean and clear but look, you have so much space for other things too. So I've gone on a lot of adventures, and I have some sketchy water stories. In fact, one time, I was at a place and the water was super sketchy, so I would drink bottled water all the time, but I forgot when I brushed my teeth, I was using the tap water, and that's how I got sick. So with this, you know that when you connect this to the water hookup, and then you connect it to your RV, all of the water in your RV is gonna be safe and filtered. So whether you're washing your dishes, you're showering or you're filling up your water bottles, you know that goes through the two-step process and that you're safe. So it really is comes to the point of how much of a filter do you need for your different adventures. Will this be enough for you Will you need to upgrade to the Ultra Whichever you pick, I think it's a good choice either way. So the first thing you need to do is just go to your water hookup and make sure everything's ready. The hookup, first, should be in the closed position and then what I do is I set up my pressure regulator first. I install this first just in case any changes in the pressure happen while my filter is hooked up, and that way, you can regulate it all the time. Now get your inbound hose. I'm using the short hose, and it is sold separately, so make sure to have an inbound hose and connect that to your pressure regulator. Now connect that male end into the right side of your filter. That's just gonna plug right in there. Now get your RV side hose and that's just gonna fit onto the female end of your water filter. Make sure that's nice and secure. With all the hoses hooked up, it's now the moment of truth, time to turn the water on. So I actually didn't tighten down the hose right the first time, so we had a little bit of a spray but now that's on nice and secure. Don't connect this hose to your RV just yet. I recommend letting it run for about a minute the first time you use this filter and then connect it to your RV. So just like that, you take your filter out, you plug in your hoses, turn on the water and now you have clean water to use at your campsite. So there's a lot of research behind the filtration system and the filtration technology, but if you're like me, you kinda have to see it to believe it. And a lot of my coworkers we're saying, "Don't drink the pond water. That's gross, and that's how you get E. coli." But when I looked into the research behind it, it was a .2-micron filtration system that filters out that harmful bacteria and things like E. coli or Legionella that made me comfortable with drinking the filtered water. But this was a look at how the Clearsource water filtration works out so that you can drink your water and feel safe about it.
