Today, we're reviewing part number CAM55353 from Camco. This is a Powergrip replacement RV power cord adapter receptacle with a handle. It's for a 50 amp plug. This is the female end. Here is the handle on the back; makes it very easy to use. If you have a damaged receptacle that you need to replace, this is the part you want. The female receptacle has a screw in the center.
You want to take that out. You want to take out the 2 Phillips screws in the top row of the front, and then the back pulls off very easily. You want to run your wiring through this hole, up here, connect to the plugs, pop the back back on, put your 3 screws back in, and then you're ready to rock and roll. I turned a main 50 amp cord into an extension cord with this replacement plug. The old fitting had a bad screw-on ring (that locks it to the RV). It was fairly easy to install, even with the fatter 50 amp wires. Always great customer service from etrailer too.
Typical (good thing!) Camco quality to replace HD parts that were not up to snuff. Excellent details instructions included.
I used to converted an old RV 50 amp power cable to a 50amp extension for my new RV. Strong, secure, safe and durable.
