Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

by:

I wish they came in more colors but they are a good heavy wheel and the only six bolt with the right centerbore circumference that fit my trailer, that I could find on the internet, so glad for that thank you

by:

Great looking match to existing wheels. In balance and round, nice powder coating. Came quickly and no damage. Only supplier I could find for this wheel.

by:

Pretty good/fair quality for the price. Etrailer shipped them fast. My only real complaint is that there isnt a color option other than black. I had to paint them so that took alot of time and money. Overall good wheels. I put 10 ply tires on and have hauled allot of gravel this past year. Thanks

by:

Wow! Shipping was unbelievably fast!
Agent
Terry was extremely helpful for a quick add on so all items came at once. Very pleased with my experience with etrailer

by:

It says advertised I wish that it came in white or silver I checked it out on my trailer and it seems to fit so I will take it off sandblasted and paint it white, would have bought a modular but they did not have the right size center bore hole that I think its important to help support the weight of a loaded trailer not just six bolts. This was the only wheel I could find that had the right offset the right bolt pattern the right wheel size and the right bore in the center of the wheel

by:

Order 2 for a 4 wheel cattle/horse trailer. Quality wheel, so ordered 2 more. Easy smooth transaction. Website made it easy to find what I needed and was the only retailer after searching several hours, that carried my size. Fast Shipping! Quality product "made in USA" and quality service also made in USA. Thanks to all those who made this a great purchase from etrailer !

by:

Great quality and value rims. Very excellent and easy and friendly ordering and prompt shipping. I love them on my 67 k10 chevy. Thanks etrailer.

by:

3's a charm. The first one received was out of round giving the tire a "hop". Etrailer was quick to get me a second one that happened to bent. They were quick to respond again and had the 3rd wheel checked by a local tire shop before send it. The wheel mounted a balance fine and seems well made. Etrailer did everything right in taking care of the issues. Thank you.

by:

Packaging needs improvement! Two wheels in a box with a piece of cardboard stapled to the inside to separate them is not going to hold these wheels in place during shipping. The staples make for a great way to scratch the wheels up while they roll around in transit though. Every other wheel manufacturer boxes them up individually. The powder coating seems to be quality and we didn't have any issues with mounting or balancing. For those of you looking to use these on a vehicle as a factory drum brake wheel alternative, they won't fit the calipers, at least not the most common GM style single piston caliper. Overall good quality product.

by:

use on wood hauling trailer .nice heavy wheel

by:

Very happy with the wheel and the servi ce.

by:

After searching for steel wheels with vintage style caps, I purchased these wheels after speaking with the customer support people, that assured me the caps would fit and these would fit my Airstream, I bought these along with the Cone style caps, I had them powder coated the color we wanted, they turned out great, and great customer service.

by:

Very heavy and well made. Powder coating is great! Would recommend.

by:

so far so good the wheels and hubcaps have held up wonderful

by:

I replaced all 4 split rims on my 63 Airstream with these. They are a perfect replacement and they even fit the cone shaped metal hub caps. Look and preform wonderfully.

by:

Great customer service and order arrived within two days. Another site quoted more money and wheels wouldn’t ship for two to three weeks.

by:

exact fit for 1975 airstream Trailor

by:

Good products, fast shipping and good order tracking.

by:

Order arrived quickly.
Lazer the salesman
was great!

by:

The cost was the cheapest I found, yet the quality of the product was outstanding. I was surprised to find the shipping was free, which made this purchase and excellent deal from all aspects. I will look for more great deals with etrailer.com.

by:

Excellent product, very quick on delivery!!!
Definitely
purchase from trailer again.

by:

Love these rims! Shipping Container allowed 3 rims to bang together as box was heavy and hit ground hard a couple times. I had a dimple on the tire bead I had to hammer out. Two rims max per Shipping Container would be easier to provide shock isolation and would be easier for one man to lift. Thanks!

by:

Wheels arrived on time and well packaged. Will be a great upgrade for our 1965 Airstream Tradewind.

by:

These wheels are a perfect match for my 1963 Airstream travel trailer. Received wheels quickly with no damage. An added bonus, I was also supporting a Missouri Local company. I will definitely be supporting this company in the future.

  • How Do I Find the Correct Wheel and Tire For my 1968 Franklin Camper
Good news- there is only one wheel bolt pattern with 6 bolts and that is 6 on 5-1/2. The Dexstar # AM20395 are not a good solution for you but I've linked our entire selection of 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern wheels and tire/wheel combos for you to have a look at. You may want to start with something like the # AM20514 which is a 15" wheel with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and is powder coated to protect from corrosion. On the left hand side of the page you'll be able to find the size of wheel...

We list shipping weights for all of our products on each item's page. Generally a trailer wheel will be packed in a carton that weighs about 2-lbs so you can deduct that amount from the displayed shipping weight to get to an actual wheel weight. All 15 x 6 trailer wheels with the 6-on-5-1/2 bolt pattern are displayed on the linked page. We have such wheels in aluminum, powder-coated steel and galvanized steel. As examples, conventional steel trailer wheel # AM20514 has a shipping weight...

  • Using Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514 on 1977 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
The Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514 can be used on a passenger vehicle, assuming that the hubs on your Land Cruiser have 6 lugs on a 5-1/2 inch bolt circle and the studs are 1/2 inch in diameter. The wheel has a pilot diameter of 3.65 inches. The wheel has a zero offset, which means that the mounting pad that rests against the hub is centered on the width of the wheel. A positive offset wheel moves the tire closer to the vehicle, while a negative offset moves the tire further away.

  • Determining the Correct Wheels for a Trailer
In order to obtain the correct wheel replacement you will need to know your bolt pattern and tire size you prefer. Your pilot hole measurement of 3-9/16 inches you referenced is a good start and I included a link to all the wheels we currently offer. If your wheels are hub-centric, you would want new wheels with the same pilot hole diameter as your current wheels because the wheels must center on the hub bore. If the pilot hole is larger, then the wheel will not stay centered on the hub...

  • Choosing Replacement Tires and Wheels for Older Trailer

This will be listed on the tire's sidewall and I have attached an article that further explains trailer tire sizing that you might find helpful. The closest wheels we have available with a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern to the 3-1/2 inch pilot hole diameter you mentioned is a conventional wheel...

The part number for the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514 is on the sticker but anytime I've looked at a Dexstar wheel I haven't seen the part number stamped onto the wheel itself. • Replacement Tire and Wheel Recommendation for a 1966 Go-Tag-Along Trailer
I can definitely help you get squared away with tires for your 1966 Go-Tag-Along but unfortunately I don't have a way to know what exact tire size that came on your trailer so we'll need to do some measurements to see what will work. We recommend 2" of clearance from your tire sidewall to the trailer frame and then 4" from the top of your tire to the fender to account for the flex of your suspension. If your 215/75-15 tires have adequate clearance then I just need to know your wheel bolt...

  • Can Dexstar Conventional Trailer Wheel Handle 80 PSI
What actually will limit the PSI on the Dexstar wheel part # AM20514 is the valve stem so as long as you go with one that can handle higher pressure like the part # AM20906 you'd be fine as this can handle over 100 psi.

  • Baby Moon Hub Cap Compatibility With Old Trailer Wheels
The Americana Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap - Chrome-Plated Steel - Qty 1 # AM90086 will fit on any conventional wheel and it appears that is what you have from pictures I can see of a 1977 Coachman Cadet. If your wheels look like the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514 then they will most likely fit. Don't worry about the wheel size or bolt pattern, the circle that holds the cover is what you are looking for regarding compatibility.

  • Wheel Recommendations for Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Caps
If you are purchasing the Americana Pointed Top Baby Moon Trailer Wheel Center Cap # AM981306 then you will want a 15" wheel with a 6-lug pattern. For that I recommend the Dexstar Conventional Steel Wheel # AM20514, which has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. You will need to make sure that the wheel that you get is a good fit for your application and that it has the correct bolt pattern as your hub. • Can I Use A Passenger Vehicle Wheel In Place of Trailer Wheel on Nomad Tandem Trailer
I cannot recommend using a vehicle wheel in place of a trailer wheel for any period of time. Passenger vehicle wheels are not manufactured the same as trailer wheels and not made to handle loads like trailer wheels. To determine which wheel you will need, you will have to measure the bolt pattern of your Nomad trailer (see FAQ). You will also need to measure the diameter of the wheel and the correct replacement tire size.

Yes they are marked with the red dot for the radial run out. If you took the wheel to a shop to have them mounted they would know where to put the tire on the rim # AM20514.
