Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I installed this hitch bar in my MB GLK350 about a year ago and I am amazed of this product. First off the installation was very easy. Everything was map and cut perfectly to the specs of my car. I have used the hitch to tow a double seadoo trailer without any issues. Every sturdy metal bar. I would recommend this hitch bar to anyone

Perfect, not even a bit of rust or damage, well painted and strong metal. No complaints thus far.

by:

Product appears to be perfect; however, not yet installed. Prior eTrailer hitch (DrawTite) for our Toyota Highlander worked out quite well, so I didn’t have any apprehensions about ordering again. I do wish the packing had been safer. The box arrived highly damaged, and there was only some loose kraft paper inside to “cushion” and restrain the hitch. I was concerned that the contents might have been compromised and/or shorted with the hitch bouncing around inside the box (it contained several parts of the order), but all was OK.

by:

I have not open the box but it’s all broken not sure if this is complete

Good hitch frame and fits my 2013 Mercedes GLK350 4Matic well. Contents included the frame trailer Hitch, the metal plates, screw, bolts and nuts.

Due to an issue where I realized while towing that one nut and bolt was somehow missing I would recommend that you make sure whoever installs this substitutes the original nuts for locknuts or usw loctite on thw bolts to keep the nuts from loosening during driving potentially vibration.

The hitch hardware is typically stored in the hitch receiver when it is shipped. I recommend making sure that the nuts are torqued down according to the manual recommendations. It is a good idea to check periodically that the hardware remains tight.

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Great product. Best if car is lifted on ramps or Jack-stands for do-it-yourself installation.
Also note it’s a tight fit to get a large torque wrench on bolts. May need to rent other style (smaller) torque wrench to add installation.

by:

I have been completely satisfied with this hitch receiver. Works perfectly with my platform bike rack that can carry 2x 65 lb eBikes.

by:

Solid hitch, easy to install. My 18 yr old step-son did it in 28 mins. (would have been less time if his father wasn't under there with him). Very good quality - will order again from etrailer in the future.

Zero Issues, I did a re-torque just to be proactive. Drove from MI to SC and back with cargo carrier installed no problem...Would still give it 5 Stars

2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

I ordered this hitch for my 2015 GLK350 and I was able to easily install it on my own with minimal tools. The available installation videos are succinct and exactly what one needs to get the job done. Using the provided hardware and connection points on my vehicle, there was zero drilling. I added a branded hitch cover and it looks like it belongs on my car.

by:

So satisfied with this product I have to give it a perfect 5-star review. True to their promise, I didn't have to drill, cut, break or bend anything on my 2013 GLK 350. On their video, they have to put the vehicle on a lift to install the trailer hitch receiver. I did the installing in my garage. I used my GLK's own jack to lift it up in place, squeezed underneath the vehicle and line up the bolts through the holes. It was a pretty tight fit but I managed to do it with ease. I didn't have anyone help me but a little bit of patience is all it takes.

Outstanding experience with etrailer! Researching and navigating the site was a breeze, the price was excellent, and the product arrived much sooner than I expected. All the components were
present, and looked brand new. Installation of the hitch onto my Mercedes GLK 350 was incredibly easy; there was also an outstanding video that details step by step installation instructions. (Not sure it was an etrailer production, but invaluable just the same.) The only recommendation I can think of is to suggest to customers to consider purchasing a wiring kit for tail light operations at the time of initial purchase. Hands down would recommend etrailer to anyone looking for equipment.

by:
2012 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Ordering process was easy, and my hitch arrived within 3 days, even though I didn't pay extra to have it shipped faster. Very sturdy, looks great, and easy to install. I didn't install any wiring harnesses because we only use our hitch receiver to attach a bike carrier.

Read the included instructions and watch the online video before installing. I installed my hitch by myself without an extra set of hands. Extra hands would have made it easier, but it's not bad by yourself. The video suggests attaching the front mount first, then raising the rear into position. I found it easier to do the opposite - attach the rear first, then raise the front into position. Final torquing of the nuts and bolt was a little challenging, especially the rear mounts, as the exhaust hanger brackets don't leave much room for your torque wrench.

I bought this product last year and it was very easy to install on my 2013 Mercedes GLK. I'm not a handyman but this is one of the do it yourself projects I can say the easiest. The part fits perfectly and after a year it still looks brand new from underneath. Used it to carry my bike rack for 2 bikes.

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Follow the instructions and this is easy to install. I did it myself using a jack to support the hitch under the vehicle. Make sure you have a torque wrench and a 3/4 socket that is not too long. the bolts require 75 ft/lbs of torque which is not a small amount.

Picture with bike rack installed.

by:

Hitch showed up on time, as promised. Fairly simple install, just read the instructions, no holes drilled. I chose this hitch from Draw-Tite because of the poor reviews of the one from Curt. etrailer was very helpful and courteous when I called about a question regarding my order.

by:

Exactly what I needed. I shopped the usual online places, but then saw the etrailer.com videos. I would’ve bought a lot of frustration, but the etrailer recommended receiver & video worked great. If you don’t have an oil change pit, or car lift (like me), you can do the install from the floor (if you can slide under a GLK :-)) And you can do it by yourself if you follow the advice to tape the bolt heads.

by:

The hitch fits nicely, however, it's more of an hour job of installation. It takes some time to align everything and lift the hitch up with a jack. A second person to give you a hand would definitely speed things up.
Also, I was not able to torque all bolts exactly to spec due to the tight space. Planning on applying torque seal to the nuts to monitor any loosening.
Shipping was very fast!

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

Very well built and instructions were easy to understand, great product.

by:

Great instructions, easy to install, you just need a 3/4” socket and 75 ft-lb torque wrench, use your car jack to lift up the hitch, bolt it down. Took over an hour by myself!

by:

Product is exactly as described and fit perfectly! The customer support was incredible. Just after ordering, I received a personalized email from the shipping team at etrailer describing when I could expect the shipment to happen and if I had any questions. Throughout the remainder of the process, I received another two or three personalized emails giving status updates and following up to make sure I was happy with the product and to see if I had any questions once they saw it had been delivered. By far the best online ordering experience I have ever had... I wish more companies could be like etrailer or that etrailer would expand their product offering to include things I needed to purchase more often. I have and will continue to recommend etrailer to friends and family. You cannot go wrong!!!

by:
2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class

I am extremely pleased with this product! The fit & finish were excellent and installation took about 40 minutes. It was a straight bolt on with no drilling needed at all.

by:

Product was as expected. Installation was straightforward and the product has performed repeatedly without any issues. I am very happy with this purchase.

by:

Installation was simple. etrailer's video was very helpful.

by:

The hitch is stronger than the GLK 350! This piece is very robust and has a triangulated mounting setup that makes this setup stronger than the SUV itself. I have been towing a 3500lb Airstream, motorcycle trailers, and some other items all over and I honestly believe I am starting to tear my subframe bushings.
This is not a downside of this hitch but a pro. It is so robust and I use this SUV so hard that the vehicle may not be liking the abuse.
The only comment to be aware of with this hitch is that the powder coat can chip and if so the steel will rust underneath. This is not unique to this hitch but be careful with sharp objects.

by:

Quality product and service, straightforward insulation with no alignment issues.
Takes a few hours without help and with a vehicle that’s needs to be wired.

In order to choose the right 2-ball mount for your 2011 Mercedes GLK 350, there are two measurements you'll need to know. The first one you already have, which is the 13-1/2 inches from the ground to the top of your receiver. Next, you'll just need to measure from the ground to the bottom of your coupler.
