  • CURT

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points behind tail lights
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector
  • Limited 1-year warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Easy to install, perfect fit, works well. I recommend also purchasing the plug mounting bracket.

by:

Item was as advertised. I like the fact that the 4 prong connector was exact match so that it fit on the sheet metal bracket. However the Left connector that plugs into the factor wiring harness had to be "filed" down somewhat so that the connector would "Click" or lock into the mating connector. A real pain the the butt as I had fished the wiring up from below and only had about 6" of wire to work with. No other connection experienced this issue.

by:

Very, very easy install on both the hitch and trailer wiring harness.

by:

Hitch was easy to install but the wire for the bolt and nut keeper needs to be a little longer. Also difficult to torque the center 1/2" nuts as they are offset and because the chain plates are in the way from getting directly 90 degree access. Ended up rounding one of the nut-heads and could not reach full 110# of torque.

by:

Very simple plug and play wiring. Very happy with it

I've seen many aftermarket hitches that are obviously not built for a specific car, and they look terrible when installed. The hitch I purchased from Etrailer.com was a perfect fit for my car. It was built by Curt Mfg., and was surprisingly easy to install. I had the wiring harness installed in about 45 minutes, and it just plugs into existing wiring (no splicing). And the hitch bolted onto the car with no cutting, drilling or hammering. It was done in about an hour. The finished installation looks like it came with the new car ! The process was much less expensive than having the dealer install it.
Excellent product !!

Still impressed with the installation and the good fit. I have hauled various stuff in my 6 by 6 trailer, up to about 2500 lbs. Works fine. Doesnt feel loose. Doesnt squeak. Had several compliments on the look and subsequent referrals.

by:
2017 GMC Terrain

Product arrived in a timely manner with one of the hangers fully exposed out side the box. The heavy construction of the Hitch receiver proved to be too much for the delivery process and the unit was in perfect condition. I viewed the video and started the job of installation. Took me about 1 and a half hours to complete the job.
The design of the unit was such that no drilling was required and the included fish wire was a wonder tool bringing bolts and square hole locks to the proper hole down a hollow frame. The wiring kit was super easy to install with step by step instructions and with NO cutting wires. Sorry it took so long to install. At 82 years old I have slowed a bit. Now I can pull my Jon boat to the lake. Happy Camper.

Well.... the first one I ordered was wrong. My fault.
etrailer was very accommodating in getting me the right harness.
Thanks!

This wiring harness fit my vehicle perfectly and, thanks to the helpful step by step video provided by etrailer.com, was very easy to install.

Product was great Installation was very simple Would have given 5 stars if delivery was on time

2012 Chevrolet Equinox

This wiring harness is very easy to install. I had a bit of trouble getting the tail lights out of our 2012 equinox but with a a second set of hand they slipped out without doing any damage. I used extra zip ties and wire loom to help protect the wire. Be sure to keep it away from the exhaust if you have a V6 with duel exhaust tips. I modified a Curt rubber tube cover to secure the harness to the receiver. I made sure to leave extra wire in behind the hitch so that I can pull it through when I need it.

by:

Easy to install and very good instructi ons.

by:
2015 GMC Terrain

The hitch and wiring harness arrived on time. One of the vertical brackets on the hitch had broken through the box due to UPS manhandling, but nothing was damaged. After re-tapping the welded bolts on my 2012 Terrain the hitch was on in 15 minutes. Fit perfectly and looks like it came with the vehicle. The wiring harness was hands down the easiest product that I have ever installed on any vehicle. I like how nothing needed to be cut or spliced. Took me all of 10 minutes to install. And it works perfectly! I am very happy wit the product and service I received from etrailer.

by:
2010 GMC Terrain

Excellent product, very easy to do. I am not a fan of cutting into existing wiring, so this kit was the answer. It took less than a hour.

The Curt 2 inch hitch for my 2010 GMC Terrain was also an easy installation. All hardware was supplied and extra for situations that maybe encountered, i.e.., bolt holes not threaded from factory. The 2010 Terrain was all bolt on. What I especially like is the fact that it is totally hidden except for the receiver.

by:
2016 GMC Terrain

I installed a Curt hitch receiver on my new 2016 GMC Terrain. I then installed the wiring harness and it couldn't have been any easier. Took me about 20 minutes to install the harness. If all my projects were this easy, I would be a happy camper. Including photo of rear of the car with hitch. The harness connector is hidden up under the bumper cover so that it isn't just hanging down.

I ordered this hitch & wiring kit for my 2012 GMC Terrain SLE 3.0 6 cylinder and it went on in less than 30 minutes! I ordered the hitch and wiring harness on Monday (Labor Day even) and the package arrived on Wednesday afternoon - WOW! Thank you eTrailer.

2012 GMC Terrain

Fantastic perfect fit easy to use and install 30 min install including reading the owner's manual for conflicts there were none. Trailer hitch and wiring fit my 2012 GMC Terrian like it was from the factory

by:

Got my trailer hitch today and thing went on without a hitch. All ready cleaned out the the 12 mm weld nut threads with a tap. That was a three hour job by itself. Because the threads were all ready cleaned out with a tap (there is no way a wire brush and penetrating oil would ever work). The assembly went on without a hitch. Probably took me 2 hours at a relaxing pace. Used anti- seize on all threaded fasteners.

by:

The box wax pretty poor but the hitch was fine.
I've been buying from etrailer for several years, and can't remember ever having anything other than what I expected, which was always great.

Thank you mike S for your help !

by:

I found the products I purchased from etrailer to be very good, easy to install at a reasonable price . I was pleased with my customer service from placing the order to delivery and follow up. I highly recommend etrailor and next time a purchase auto accessories I will start with etrailor.

by:

Easy installation my only problem, I had to chase the the welded threaded nuts on the SUV. Looks good. I can now hook a trailer up for small hauling jobs

by:

Just installed this harness. Looks like a quality product; delphi connectors to match OEM and harness construction seems very good. Now we'll see how it works and holds up over time.

  • Can Tongue Weight Capacity Be Added to Vehicle by Using Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs
Thank you for your purchase of etrailer 2-Inch Class III hitch # e98865 which is the highest-rated hitch offered for your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Although this hitch has a tongue weight (downward force) rating of 350-lbs some combinations of power chairs and carriers could exceed the hitch rating, or exceed the vehicle's own tongue weight (TW) rating. Vehicles like the Equinox that are primarily designed for passenger transport, rather than trailer towing, can have fairly low TW ratings....

  • How to Pick Out a Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2013 GMC Terrain
There are two trailer wiring kits available for your 2013 GMC Terrain without the tow package. The Curt kit part # 56094 that does not have a converter and the Tow Ready part # 118494 that does have a converter. Both are listed as fits so either would work, but the Tow Ready would be a safer option as it draws all of the amperage to power the trailer lights from the vehicle battery whereas the Curt powers the taillights by drawing from the taillight circuits. The drawback to the Tow Ready...

  • What Do I Need to Tow a Trailer with Brakes on a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox
You will need a few things for a complete set up to tow a trailer on your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. First, let's start with the trailer hitch: For your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox I recommend the Class III, 2 inch etrailer # e98865. Be sure to check your owner's manual to verify the towing capacity of your vehicle before you tow. It has a 2 inch hitch receiver opening (as opposed to 1-1/4 inch) which offers many more hitch mounted accessories to choose from when you're not towing your trailer....

  • What Is The Distance Between The Rear Frame Rails On A 2015 Chevrolet Equinox
The distance between the inside edges of the rear frame rails on the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is approximately 35". If you are looking for a rear hitch receiver compatible with this vehicle, I recommend using the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98865 as this hitch has the highest tongue weight (TW) and gross trailer weight (GTW) of any other hitch receivers confirmed as a fit for your vehicle. I have attached an installation video of this hitch on the same year vehicle for you....

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch item # 13591 will fit your 2017 GMC Terrain. However, I have a better option for you. I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e98865. This hitch is identical to the Curt hitch with the exception of the superior matte coating that not only helps to prevent rust but will also blend in nicely beneath your Terrain's trim. This etrailer Hitch item # e98865 custom fit for your Terrain and bolts to it with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver....

Yes, the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 56094 will bypass the factory trailer wiring on your 2014 GMC Terrain. This harness draws signal from the tail lights and is then powered by the battery so it will be completely independent of the factory trailer wiring. It will also not cause any harm to the factory trailer wiring or factory tail light wiring either. The Curt T-Connector part # 56094 is a confirmed fit for your 2014 GMC Terrain.

If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything needed to wire up the 7-way and install a brake controller.
