Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Took an hour to install. May have to buy a hitch extension to raise it higher since my drive way has a slope. I will add a basket in the back for light camping gears. Can’t wait to use it

2010 Ford Fusion

All I can say is wow. The trailer hitch went in without a "hitch". I could have done it myself but I had someone hold up the other end for a few minutes while I secured the other side. I'm sure I could have rigged a way to hold up the other end by myself but who would get me a beer when I was empty.

When I first picked up the hitch from the shipping company (super fast shipping btw) I noticed how stout and heavy this hitch was. I was pleasantly surprised! Everything was packed awesome even though the box could have been a bit smaller.

I have a review for the wiring kit that is recommended for my Ford Fusion and this review parallels that where the direction and the awesome online video tutorial guided me into installation. Even though everything was pretty straight forward.

Cuddo's to etrailer for providing awesome guidance and support for the products they sell and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others!

The products are great. No complaints what so ever. I figured it was best to get 200 dollars worth of towing equipment for my quad and trailer than to spend 45k for a brand new truck! Thanks for the follow up.

This is a great trailer hitch. Installation is straight forward, but took me 1&1/2 hours to complete. I used liquid soap in a spray bottle to lube the exhaust brackets for lowering the muffler. The pull wires work good, but it took several minutes install the first carriage bolt above the muffler. The other 3 bolts went quickly. The hitch looks good on the Fusion and is perfect for my bike rack.

I used the hitch to pull a light weight and was pleased with it. It still looks great. I have the Curt rubber cover installed when not using the hitch.

2012 Lincoln MKZ

Ordered this hitch for a 2012 Lincoln MKZ. I was hoping to get a class II hitch for the car but no one manufactures one for it. The hitch fit perfectly (the mounting holes all lined up without any issues.) I took my time installing it so it took me over an hour with the most difficult part being detaching the rubber exhaust hangers from the exhaust as there were 3 of them on this vehicle that needed to be removed. I put the car on car ramps to lift it and used a floor jack to lower the exhaust. Even with it lowered it was a tight fit getting the hitch between the exhaust and rear bumper but with a little finesse I got it in. The hitch was provided with all the necessary hardware including 4 wires to fish the bolts through the frame rails. Best to leave these in place until the hitch is lifted into place. A second set of hands would have made the installation much easier but certainly doable with one person and floor jack. Very clean appearance once completed.

Great hitch. Great to deal with this company. Hitch came very quickly and works great.

I've had this receiver for a year and pull a light 4x8 utility trailer and attach a bike rack to it. it's awesome. Fairly easy to install and still looks good after a year. No peeling paint and no rust. I have an adapter to bring it up to 2" (because all my hitches, etc were 2" from another vehicle), so it does make it stick out a little far, but if it didn't have that, it would be pretty well-hidden.

by:

Great hitch! Super fast shipping too! Really glad I discovered etrailer.

I had a snafu installing it and the nut in the frame kept moving around on me, but I was able to finally get it back centered! The exhaust on my Sport is larger than most other Fusions so it made it only slightly trickier. Plus I didn't have a fancy lift to do it on. I took my time and with the snafu still only took me less than an hour to install.

I'm only using this so far for a bike rack and the only issue I have is the tool that came with the Thule rack doesn't fit due to the chain loops in the way. Oh well I just use a ratchet anyway! Only complaint I have is the chain loops are welded off-center, which isn't too noticeable and I wasn't going to go through the hassle of sending it back just for that, but still a little disappointing on the QC of this hitch. Can't expect anything to be perfect these days anyway!

No problems, didnt mention the trailer light harness in previous. It too was a quick easy install and still functioning as it should.

Web site is easy to navigate, view, andpurchase what I needed. The availability of PDF instructions is really handy if they didn't arrive with your order, but mine did. Since I commute to work by bike the UPS tracking was handy to know when my order would arrive at work so I could drive the car that day.
The install of the Draw-Tite hitch receiver onto my 2010 Ford Fusion was a breeze, literally 40 minutes start to finish, and let me say whoever came up with the fish wires to assist in fishing the carriage bolt and washer through the frame is a GENIUS !
Very good experience over-all. Will recommend etrailer.com to all my friends. (Pictures Attached)

This hitch fit my car as expected and was pretty easy to install. I have a Kuat Transfer bike rack mounted on the hitch and it is working well. I rate 4/5 because the paint needed touch-up in several places due to scratches. Would definitely order again.

Volvo Cross Country

I ordered the hitch after watching the Utube install video, it made it look pretty simple. I wanted the hitch for my bike rack for a cross country vacation. The hitch came and I installed it in about an hour thanks to the video. And it performed great on our trip. Thanks

2011 Ford Fusion

Great for my bike rack. Installed on my Ford Fusion Hybrid in less than 30 mins. Crawling under the car a supporting the exhaust and the hitch with a bunch of blocks of wood wasn't easy, neither was torquing the bolts to 50lb, but I was extremely happy with the final install in just 30 mins. The pull wires are a great invention.

2011 Ford Fusion

2011 Ford Fusion, just got my hitch and had it installed in 30 minutes, looks super clean, easy to install and the fit is perfect.
Third hitch I've ordered form E-Trailer and am blown away at how quickly I received my hitches. Price could not be beat and the free shipping is awesome! Thanks!!

by:
2012 Ford Fusion

Bought this for my 2012 Ford Fusion, it fit perfectly.
Hardest part of install was getting the exhaust hangers released from the rust.

The hitch is actually hidden, it only shows the receiver, which is great !!

by:

Solid hitch for bike rack. Install was exactly as shown in video. It took me a little over an hour to install by myself without a lift. Kind of heavy to hold up by yourself - I propped it up in the middle to get the nuts on and made it go pretty smoothly.
Great product and price. Installed on 2012 Ford Fusion

by:

It's all a done deal and I didn't have to jack the car up.
It was all easy to do with the installation video.

Which bike rack will fit hitch part no. 60282?

Patrick B.

12/17/2013

There are a number of bike racks that will fit Class I, 1-1/4 inch hitches. Check the link below to all of them. The hitch tube does not tuck up too far under the bumper, so rack shape should not be much of an issue. You can also let me know how many bikes you need to carry and I show you some different racks and explain the differences.

2010 Ford Fusion

Installed on 2010 Ford Fusion with 44,000 miles. Nice experience. Purchased hitch on a Sunday evening, and was delivered on Thursday afternoon the same week. Reviewed the installation for the 2010 Fusion on the e-trailer web-site prior to
purchase, and reviewed it again prior to installation on Saturday afternoon. Instructions and video were excellent. Took
approximately 2 hours start to finish. Install time was all-in, included watching the video, opening the box and inspecting the parts, as well as clean-up and putting all the tools away. For installation, I have three floor jacks, and supported the car on two under the rear shocks, and supported and lowered the exhaust system with the third. Raised the car wheels about 10 inches off the ground gave adequate installation clearance. Used a 26 inch rubber tie-down, attached each end to the springs, tying a knot in it to increase tension. Using the tie down was a safety precaution. Used PB Blaster on the rubber hangers to help release. Inserted screw drivers to help get rubber hangers over pin stops, while prying with a 2.5 foot crowbar. Pins were a bit rusted. Lowered the exhaust with the jack. Installed using technique shown in video. Pulled the hitch toward the rear of the car because there is some play, and then torqued down the bolts
to 50 ft-lbs with a 17mm socket. Raised exhaust and reinstalled the 3 rubber hangers over the pins after spraying again with PB Blaster. Could reinstall rubber hangers by hand by doing so. Good and easy install, no drilling required. Just installed today, so no experience yet with use.

After 1 year, etrailer followed up with me to see how the hitch was working out. No problems with the hitch. Use it to haul my bikes around town, and have taken on a long trip down the local turnpike with no problems. No rust yet.

by:

WoW what can I say, the Video was key to the install ! Yes it was just that easy ! And the wiring kit was also a snap !

by:
2011 Ford Fusion

I am really pleased with the product and even more pleased with etrailer.com! The hitch itself is super and high quality. But the install was as simple and easy as could be.... This because of the video on etrailer.com which shows you exactly how to do it, including supporting the exhaust with a ratchet strap. Really, this took me and my 11yo son less than an hour with me showing him how to use tools and such. So I am very happy.

Also - The hitch tucks tightly and nicely under the car and you can barely see the thing. Great!

I also purchased a bike carrier at the same time (which was the purpose for the hitch on the car) and it really was a good decision. Exactly as described, the reviews helped a lot and the whole package just works and works well.

Fast shipping. Great price!

I received the hitch sometime Thursday,
inspected the box all looked good moved it into my garage. I installed it on the following Saturday morning in less than 20 minutes, it was a piece of cake to install as I am a mechanic. Connected the bike rack to the hitch, loaded the bikes and went for a bike ride down on the beach with the entire family that same Saturday afternoon. The hitch performed wonderfully just as described on web-site, it is tucked nice and clean under fascia of back bumper and looks as if it were designed, fabricated and installed by the factory. It was a perfect fit!

The trailer hitch has been working flawlessly since new, it is a wonderful and great investment, I use it often and have zero complaints. I will buy another from you when I purchase a newer car whenever that will be.

  • Will a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Fit a 2010 Ford Fusion with Single Exhaust
The Draw-Tite Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 24865 is designed to fit all styles of the 2010 Ford Fusion including those with single exhaust. It is a pretty basic installation. You will need to lower the exhaust pipe by removing the rubber isolator at the muffler and one isolator near the rear suspension. I have included a link to a video showign a typical installation on a model with single exhaust.
