Can 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid Tow Trailer and Parts Needed to Do So
Question:
Can I put a tow package on my 1.5L eco boost Ford Fusion Hybrid? I see that you can tow with a sports edition fusion, but I need to move to FL. And I have a lot of stuff

We do have all the parts needed for your 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid to physically pull a trailer but you will want to take a look at your copy of the owner's manual for its specific capacity or restrictions. I did take a look at the online version of the manual and found that Ford does not recommend towing a trailer with this vehicle so there aren't any capacities listed.
I do still recommend verifying this in your copy of the manual as its possible you have a different model.
If you decide to proceed or find that you can in fact tow a light trailer with your Fusion then you will need a trailer hitch, wiring harness, and a ball mount/hitch ball combo.
For a trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I # 24865 because of its slightly easier install process compared to the alternative and the fact that it doesn't require any additional support straps if you ever decided to use it to attach a non-trailer load such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. The Class I hitch features a 2,000 pound towing weight capacity and a 200 pound tongue weight limit. Just note that you will still be limited by the capacities on your Fusion if they are lower.
I have attached an installation video that you can use for reference.
Then for wiring the Tekonsha T-One # 118422 will work perfectly. The custom harness will plug right into factory ports behind the tail lights to provide you with a 4-Way connector that will power a trailer's basic signal lights.
For a ball mount the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3594 should work great with its 4 inch rise and it can be paired with a 2 inch ball like # 19258 or a 1-7/8 inch ball like # 19256 (depending on what size ball the coupler on your trailer accepts).
I have a few articles on trailer towing that you might also find helpful.
