  • Is there a Custom Sidewinder Wedge for a Pro Series 15K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch 30056
If your Pro Series 15K 5th wheel hitch was built in 2009 or after then wedge # 30850 is the correct wedge for you. If it is older then you would need to use the universal wedge including with a Sidewinder/Revolution pin box. If you do not have the universal wedge it is # 201100.

  • Will the Reese 18K Signature Series 5th Wheel Hitch Work On a 2020 Ram 3500
I do have an option for a 2020 Ram 3500 but the Reese 18K Signature Series 5th Wheel Hitch is not compatible nor is than any adapter that will allow it to be. Instead, I recommend the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # RP30918 which is an updated version of the Reese 18K Signature Series 5th Wheel Hitch. The correct wedge for the Reese M5 is the Replacement Universal Wedge for 5th Airborne Sidewinders part # 201100.

  • Fifth Wheel Hitch for a Rotating Kingpin on a Grand Designs Reflection 150 Series Trailer
Part of your Grand Design Reflections 150's best features is the 90 degree pivoting pin box, and it would be a shame to not use it. You're right in that you don't need to have a sliding hitch given its design. However, you'll want to verify the clearance. I've included a link to our Sidewinder FAQ so you can get a similar idea of its features. Most importantly, in this article is how to calculate the clearance to verify if you need a hitch with offset to make the most of your pivoting...

  • Which Sidewinder Wedge is Designed to Work with Curt E16 Fifth Wheel Hitch
What you sent in a picture of is not a # 30861. That appears to be a universal wedge part # 201100. I couldn't find an invoice in our system where you ordered a # 30861 from us, but it looks like you possibly got shipped the wrong wedge.

  • What Type of Maintenance is Required from Reese Revolution Pin Box
The manufacturer of the Reese Revolution pin box recommends that to maintain easy hookup you frequently need to lubricate the wedge surfaces, back side of the king pin, and the skid plate surface. The bearing surfaces of the Revolution arm can also be lubricated if stiff, using white lithium grease. Page 4 of the linked instructions illustrates the lubrication points. I have also linked a brief article concerning Sidewinder lubrication. For grease we have the part # L11354 which would...

  • Recommended Wedge Kit For A Reese Sidewinder And Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch
Yes, the Universal Wedge for 5th Airborne Sidewinders # 201100 will work with the Reese Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret RP34FR, but the correct wedge is more dependent on the type of fifth wheel hitch. If you have a Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928 like we talked about in your previous questions then you'll want the Sidewinder Wedge Kit for 20,000-lb Reese M-Series # RP44FR. This custom wedge kit is designed to fit the jaws of your hitch for a more snug fit. This...

  • Recommended Wedge for Reese Sidewinder Rotating Pin Box
Reese does offer some custom wedges, but without knowing the particular hitch you have I couldn't make a recommendation. The Reese # 201100 universal wedge you'd mentioned will work with all Reese 5th wheel hitches, but it works better with some than others. It's important that you have the underside and the sides of the wedge greased before hitching up for easier coupling and uncoupling. The arm of the Sidewinder being stiff and not being able to rotate it by hand doesn't indicate a...

  • Is there a Sidewinder or Revolution Custom Wedge for a Pro Series 16K 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
If your Pro Series 5th wheel hitch was manufactured after 2009 then you can use Sidewinder Wedge Kit # 30850. It will actually fit Pro Series 15K, 16K, and 20K hitches made after 2009. Otherwise the universal wedge, # 201100, would be a good option.

  • Which Wedge Should be Used with a Reese M5 Fifth Wheel Hitch 20k
The universal wedges that comes with the Reese M5 # RP30921 is much different in shape than the one that you should use part # RP44FR. If you hover over # RP44FR and then the universal wedge part # 201100 you can see just how different they are. The M5 wedge is going to fit much better and will provide you with a better towing experience and easier setup. The difference between the two Sidewinder is the pin boxes the two are designed to fit as replacements for. The part # RP34FR fits...

  • Best Sidewinder Wedge for Unknown Fifth Wheel Hitch
Without knowing which fifth wheel hitch you have the best wedge solution would be the universal one part # 201100 as it fits the most applications. But if you can let me know what hitch you have I can see if there's a custom fit option that would work better.

  • What is a Sidewinder Wedge Kit for a 5th Wheel Hitch
A Sidewinder wedge kit for 5th wheel hitch is a wedge that installs on the underside of the Sidewinder pin box and helps to lock out the king pin in the funnel of the 5th wheel hitch head. This helps the Sidewinder to only pivot at the turret instead of pivoting both at the turret and at the king pin (which would be extremely dangerous). The Sidewinders come with a universal wedge like part # 201100 but depending on what kind of 5th wheel hitch you have it may be better to use a custom...

  • Is a Capture Plate Needed to Tow a 5th Wheel Trailer with a Curt E16 Hitch
You do not need a capture plate for the Curt E16 5th wheel trailer hitch. Capture plates are exclusive to PullRite hitches and are used to help activate its automatic sliding feature. You would just need to remove the capture plate on the pin box to use the Curt hitch. Be sure to use some grease # L11390. Or, if you do not want to deal with grease you could always use a lube plate, # 16721.

  • Recommended Sidewinder Pin Box And 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2017 Ram 1500 With 5.5 Bed
For a 2017 Ram 1500 with a 5/5' bed you'll definitely need to use a sidewinder pin box or Demco Sliding hitch # DM8550040 to prevent the nose of your 2015 KZ Durango D296BH from coming into contact with the cab of your truck. To find a compatible sidewinder pin box for your trailer you'll need to know the bolt pattern of the current pin box. Typically there is a sticker with the model number, serial number, etc. on it that can be used to find out the bolt pattern. If you do not have any...

  • Does Pin Box Capture Plate Need to be Removed Before Towing with a Standard 5th Wheel Hitch
That all depends on what 5th wheel hitch you are using and what the pin box is on your trailer. For example, the Reese 5th Airborne Sidewinder pin boxes use a wedge like part # 201100 to basically lock the king pin in place so that the rotating turret can do its job. It is possible to lockout the rotating turret so that you don't have to use the wedge or capture plate, but if you were to remove the wedge/capture plate and your pin box isn't locked out you will have 2 pivot points which...

  • Which Sidewinder Wedge Is Recommended for Use with Pro Series Fifth Wheel Hitch
For Pro Series fifth wheel hitches you'd want to use the universal wedge part # 201100 with a Sidewinder pin box. This would be what comes with a Sidewinder like part # RP61420 but if yours is missing the # 201100 would be all that you'd need.

  • Replacement Wedge for Reese Revolution/Sidewinder Rotating 5th Wheel Pin Box
If the wedge on the Revolution is showing wear, it's definitely a good idea to replace it, as it could allow some side to side movement of the pin box at the king pin which is undesirable. This usually occurs when a universal wedge is used. They fit fairly well, but because they don't completely conform to the hitch funnel in the skid plate, wear can occur over time. The wedges are hitch specific, the exact wedge needed will be determined by the 5th wheel hitch you're using. For Curt...

  • Which Way Should the Universal Wedge Face on a Sidewinder/Revolution and Elite Series Hitch

  • Which Sidewinder Wedge Works With a 2006 Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
The Sidewinders come with a Universal Wedge, # 201100, which should work on your Reese 16k trailer hitch. If you have a Reese Elite, Signature Series or Select Plus Fifth Wheel hitch, you can use 5th Airborne Custom Wedge, # SWW-01. I also noticed that you mentioned using the Sidewinder with a slider. While the use of a Slider is not prohibited with a Sidewinder, the slider will need to remain in the locked, towing position when using the Sidewinder.

  • Will the Universal Sidewinder Wedge Work on a Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
In most cases, the universal wedge that comes with the Sidewinder will work. For a Reese 16k hitch like # RP30051, the universal wedge is all you will need. Keep in mind that the hitch will need to always remain locked in the towing position and never slid forward with the Sidewinder installed. Doing so would create problems with too much stress on the system, move the trailer weight too far behind the rear axle of the towing vehicle, and could interfere with the truck tailgate.

  • Custom Wedge for a Sidewinder and Curt E-16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch
If the universal wedge you are using with your Sidewinder did not lock out the pivot point of the trailer at the hitch, which is what the purpose of a wedge is, then that is what would have caused the problem. When the wedge locks out the pivot point that will allow the trailer to pivot 22 inches further back. But the turret on a Sidewinder (which is where it pivots 22 inches back) can also be locked out. So if the wedge was not in the right place and the turret was locked out the trailer...
