Which Sidewinder Wedge is Designed to Work with Curt E16 Fifth Wheel Hitch

I have a Curt E 16 hitch. Purchased the 30861 wedge kit. Its too wide to fit into the funnel. Should I grind it down to fit? My universal fits but theres a little slack in there. Is it ok?

What you sent in a picture of is not a # 30861. That appears to be a universal wedge part # 201100.

I couldn't find an invoice in our system where you ordered a # 30861 from us, but it looks like you possibly got shipped the wrong wedge.

The Reese custom wedge #30861 is flared out at one end so it should fit and lock out the pivot at the E16 hitch better than the rectangular Curt wedge #C16991. But since both fit the same hitch you could go with either one. As long as the wedge you…
