Grease Seal - 10-9

Average Customer Rating:  4.8 out of 5 stars   (128 Customer Reviews)

by:

Got the grease seals on time and installed the same day.Excellent service from e trailer.Josh was spot on helping me get the correct seals.Sorry I didnt take any pics my hands were full of grease.

by:

I am sure the product is of average quality, however when you purchase multiple items from etrailer (some of substantial weight) and they box everything together without any packing materials to keep fragile items safe, the comfort and likeness of purchasing items through this retailer drops. Brought this up with their customer service, and they said it was packed properly. The grease seal should of been in the little plastic bag.

by:

Contacted the experts to find the correct size grease seal for my Dexter Axel. Jameson C. came up with the correct size. Quick delivery and an easy install, good follow up by Courtney B. Etrailer came through again.

by:

Perfect fit!

by:

After answering some relevant questions, the rep. Andrea was able to match the correct part for my bearings.
Speedy delivery with reasonable shipping charges.
Overall, new go to place for parts, maintenance beats breakdowns.
Much thanks

by:

Fantastic! I needed grease seals to get the Pwc trailer fixed .
They are correct and arrived to fast.
I have always trusted etrailer.
Picture is the old leaking seal. The new one is perfect.

by:

Much better than cheaper seals without sealing spring.

by:

Great service and fast delivery!!

by:

Item delivered is the incorrect seal… same deal that came in the kit… disappointing

by:

I purchased two of these axles to replace my old square ones. They appear to be good quality but they arrived damaged. The grease fittings on the ends were smashed because packaging wasn't adequate. I've emailed back and forth and was shipped the wrong parts for replacement. In the end I was told I'd have to cut the spindles off and replace them. All I need is new grease zerks that thread on the ends of the axles. Be prepared to purchase these on your own because customer service is subpar on a remedy and the way they package them for shipping does not prevent damage.

by:

I highly recommend etrailer for all trailer needs

I am a firm believer in Murphy's Law and plan for things to go wrong. I have kept a full bearing set for my Dexter #9 in the tool box of my teardrop since I first got it. I have yet to need them but I am ready.
I had to order a second set of seals to replace the original set that came with the axle kit. Why? Some unfortunate soul came up to me in a campground and since we had a similar Little Guy/NuCamp trailer, asked me "I bet you don"t have a spare set of bearing seals?" He lost a bearing and even though he found new bearings and races - at 5 times the cost, but no one in the little town we were in had any idea of the seal number. I gave him the part numbers from my cross ref sheet and he left to make some calls. A week to get them! We looked them up, ordered me a new set and sold them for the replacement cost. We keep in touch, he made it home from Calif to N. Carolina and has made several trips since with no issues.

by:

Grease Seal shipped very quickly, exactly as described.

by:

Exact fit for my new axle replacement. Fast shipping and web site was very easy to place your order. I will use this company again.

After a year still working great.

by:

These seals were for repacking of wheel bearings on a 23 yr old 5' X 8' utility trailer (probably has less than 1,000 mi on it). etrailer shipped promptly and the seals are the correct size. The new ones may be better quality than the originals; but it's probably not fair to compare 23 old seals to brand new ones. These were Dexter 8-258 hubs on a 2200# axle. Bearings were good, but I don't plan on waiting 23 yrs. before I service them again. If I am, I will be 90. We all hope I'm not "home improving" at that age.
Thanks etrailer.com

by:

I bought a Toy Carrier motorcycle trailer 3 years ago, I've taken it 2000mi
round trip to Daytona several times and feel guilty i have not repacked the wheel bearings yet. I consulted the Dexter axle website and found it very confusing, and of very little help acquiring new bearing seals, but i finally did find a part number, I entered the number on the etrailer website and was immediately rewarded with an image and wealth of information pertaining to the exact seal i needed, i refused to take the hub apart without the correct seal in hand, etrailer saved me a lot of worry over nothing, just good simple expedient service.

by:

I have been using etrailer for years and years. They have everything you need and are very helpful when you need advice
Keep up the good work

Perfect in every way..... been using etrailer for many years and have never been let down

by:

The product is fine. The review is more about finding these beasts. I went to 5 stores in my local area to no avail. I went online and entered the bearing SN# and only one company had a link to grease seal. I was never particular about where I brought online. Every time I needed trailer parts, this was the place. I'd suggest all trailer parts shoppers just start here.

Grease Seal - 10-9

by:

Seals work good, I had to leave them hang out of the hub about a 1/16", to make sure they would make it past the grease hole on the spindle , that is the reason for the new seals. Hoping that will solve the issue of the grease getting on the inside of the wheel.

by:

I order all of my trailer accessories from your company. Fast shipping professional customer service and the parts always fit

by:

The grease seals work perfect. As always etrailer.com is a great place to order all your trailer products. Easy ordering and fast delivery.

by:

Haven't installed the brake magnet yet but looks to be an exact match to the old one. As for the seals I ordered, I learned not to trust my owners manual. It listed a part number to get for seal replacement so I ordered them and etrailer delivered them very efficiently only to find out the i.d. was not a fit. I should have checked the dimensions before ordering. I have found other discrepancies in my Aliner manual so it's not to be relied on. Thanks for fast service, etrailer.

by:

Although I only needed two, I ordered three just in case I messed one up during the install. Good thing I didn't because one of the three was malformed during manufacture and was unusable.

I like etrailer. They have the stuff, the website allows me to find, research, and order what I need. The downside is I have to be able to wait at least 8-9 days before it shows up, sometimes much longer.

by:

Orders twice with varied product needs for utility trailer, bearings, seals, lights, wiring and hub. All good price and all just right

  • Replacement Bearing and Seal Kit for 2004 Kendon Motorcycle Trailer
My research indicates that grease seal part 125255UC has an outer diameter of 1.980-inches and this correlates with the hubs that use bearing # L44649. The seal part most often used with inner/outer bearing L44649 is seal part # 10-9 which has an inner diameter of 1.50-inches and an outer diameter of 1.987-inches so bearing kit # BK1-150 that you referenced should do it. You can confirm the seal size by measuring a spindle at the point where the seal rides (point B in the linked image)...

The etrailer.com 5-on-4-1/2 Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-2K will fit your trailer spindles since it uses the same set of bearings ( # L44649 which are indeed equivalents to part 4440160) and the same seal as the OEM part. The hub's included # 10-9 seal has an inner diameter of 1.50-inches and an outer diameter of 1.987-inches to match the spindle diameter and hub bore diameter, respectively.

  • Hub/Drum and Seal Recommendation for a 1997 Coleman Fleetwood Bayport Camper
The Trailer Hub and Drum part # 8-257-5UC3 would be the correct hub to use. You will need to order two of the Grease Seals part # 13194 to use on your spindle instead of the included # 10-9 seals. Other than that one small detail you would be good to go with these hubs as a replacement on your 1997 Coleman Fleetwood Bayport Camper.

  • What Replacement Grease Seals do I Need for 44646 Bearings and 44610 Races?
In order to know what grease seals you need, it depends on if your bearing 44649 is on both the inner and outer bearing or just the outer bearing alone. If you determine that both the inner outer bearing is numbered 44649, the correct replacement grease seals you need is the # 10-9. If, however, just the outer bearing reads 44649, the correct grease seal you need is the # 58846.

Axle capacity is just one of the things you will need to know in order to choose the correct hub, but using that alone won't ensure a fit, there are a number of things you'll need to get the right hub. Along with the capacity of the axle, you also need to know what bearings your current hub has. You will need to take apart your current hub assembly and look at the bearings themselves; wipe away the grease and you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them. If you are...

While I don't know what exact grease seal you need, I can get you in the ball park and you can confirm the correct one by taking some measurements with a digital caliper. Your 2007 Forest River Flagstaff should have either a 2,000 lb axle or a 3,500 lb axle so you'll need one of the following seals: Seal - # 34823 (pair is part # RG06-010) - This has an ID of 1.249" and an OD of 1.983" Seal - # 10-9 (pair is part # RG06-020) - This has an ID of 1.500" and an OD of 1.987" Seal - # 58846...

  • Availability Of Double Lip Grease Seal With 1.5" ID And 1.983" OD
Hey Bruce, it sounds like you might have some older seals, perhaps Transcom seals with the 1.983" OD. We do have one seal, the #10-9 seal, which has proven to be a suitable replacement for these seals. This is a double lip seal with a 1.5" ID. The only difference is the outer diameter of this seal is only slightly larger at 1.987 versus 1.983 on your seal. Since there is no double lip seal with a 1.5" ID and 1.983" OD, this will be your best bet. What you can do is actually put the seals...

I had our warehouse measure the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-G-EZ-2K for you and it is 4 1/8" from the outside of the inner bearing to the outside of the outer bearing. I included a diagram of this measurement for you to take a look at. This is a set of double lip seals that provide a much better seal than a single lip. • How to Measure to Identify Correct Replacement Grease Seal
First, make certain that your new seal has the exact same part number or dimensions as your old one. Seals come in many sizes and can differ as little as a few thousandths of an inch. That small diameter change can mean the difference between a good fit and no fit. Two seals that may appear identical in size to the naked eye could still have slightly different dimensions. It is not reliable to use an old seal to match up to a new one since over time they can become deformed. If you can...
