Using a wire from the PCM of the vehicle is not the normal way to get the brake signal circuit for a brake controller install. What we recommend is using a circuit tester liker part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires of the brake pedal switch and then see which one only has voltage when the brakes are applied. You'd want to use that circuit.

Many vehicles will have grommets somewhere in the rear cargo area that will allow you to route wires to the underside of the vehicle. The grommets are typically found behind the rear trim panels, in the spare tire well, or under the threshold.

While we don't carry any two-way check valves for an air brake system that the Hayes Air Actuated Trailer Brake Controller # HA100400C would install on, I can say that two-way check valves are also known as double check valves and a quick browser search found that these are fairly easy to come by. The Thule Passage 3, part # TH911XT is indeed a fit for your Volvo XC90. Because the rack itself will be in very close proximity to the rear glass of your XC90, Thule does NOT recommend using the rear wiper once any rack is installed. It is very possible that using the wiper would contact either part of the rack or part of the bike, which would cause damage.

No. The 7-Way end in the # 47405 adapter is made for the North American style of 7-Way round pins. A European 7-Way, see picture, has separate turn signals and brake lights and a circuit for fog lamps. The tail lights are also separate.

The Class II ball mount we offer with the tallest rise is the Curt # C45028. This ball mount has a rise of 5-3/8 inches. This gives you a height of 18-3/8 inches, still short of your 22-3/4 inch coupler height. Even if you used a hitch ball similar to the Curt # C40034 with a 2 inch rise, you would still be a couple of inches shy of your coupler height.
