Can Rear Wiper of 2007 Volvo XC90 Be Used with Trunk Mounted Bike Rack in Place

Question:

I read from your previous answers that the Thule Passage 3 bike rack fits on my 2007 Volvo XC-90, and Im considering purchasing one. However, Im a bit concerned whether you could still use the rear window wipers when the bike rack is installed? Thanks!

The Thule Passage 3, part # TH911XT is indeed a fit for your Volvo XC90. Because the rack itself will be in very close proximity to the rear glass of your XC90, Thule does NOT recommend using the rear wiper once any rack is installed. It is very possible that using the wiper would contact either part of the rack or part of the bike, which would cause damage.

You might also want to take a look at the Thule OutWay, part # TH56JV. Instead of the clumsy strap and buckle mounting arrangement found on other racks, thOutWay uses only 2 retractable cables instead of the 4-6 straps of other racks.
