  • Does 2021 Kia Seltos Needed to be Lift on Jacks to Install Trailer Hitch Receiver
  • It is not necessary to have your 2021 Kia Seltos up on a lift or jack to install the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C65FR. It may be slightly easier given you'll have more room if you were to use something like the FloTool RhinoRamps Max Vehicle Ramp Set # FT11912MI and Wheel Chocks # FT11930MI but it is not necessary for the installation. I have added a link to the installation instructions for you to check out as well of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C65FR.

  • Can Rhino Rack Roof Rack # RRRS619B be Left Permanently Installed
  • It wouldn't be a terrible idea to remove the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack # JA7969 on occasion to clean it, but it's designed for long term installs. Every so often I would recommend you lift the rack off of the roof and clean the pads of the rack as well as the paint on the roof.

  • Is the Kuat Beta Easy to Install and Remove
  • The anti-rattle device for the Kuat Beta - Folding 2 Bike Aluminum Rack for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches # B202-114 is located at the rearmost end of the shank so it will be easy to get at and release the tension of the rack in the hitch receiver (see attached). The hitch pin itself is a pin with a simple clip and is really just a safety feature to further ensure the rack doesn't dislodge from the receiver (although the anti-rattle itself should be able to keep that from happening). If you wanted...

  • How Does Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode RED34FR Get Wired To 3rd Brake Light?
  • There sure is! The Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode for Tow-Pro Brake Controllers # RED34FR you were looking at gets wired as shown in the included diagram. One of the red wires goes to the red brake output wire on your trailer brake controller, the orange wire gets connected to the input wire going from the vehicle wiring to the third brake light, and the other red wire gets connected to the wire going to the third brake light. I included a video of the products mentioned for you to...

  • How to Install Rightline Sport Cargo Bag on a 2015 Kia Sorento with Just Side Rails
  • On a 2015 Kia Sorento with just side rails that run front to back, if the side rails are raised you would attach the side straps from cargo bag # RL100S20 to the vehicle like normal. Since this method of attachment would allow the bag to slide a little forward and backward I also recommend protective pad # RL100650. It will not only protect the roof but also keep the bag from moving back and forth. Another handy option is a tire step, # HE4040, which makes reaching up to mount or load...

  • Is There Drilling Required to Install Curt Hitch on 2022 Kia Sportage AWD SX Turbo
  • We confirmed with Curt that their hitch # C13281 that you referenced fits all models of the 2022 Kia Sportage including your SX Turbo AWD model. There is no drilling to install this hitch and you may need to trim the rear fascia slightly before you reinstall it. I attached an install video for this on a similar Sportage for you to check out as well. This would work great with a bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z.

  • Brake Controller Installation Wiring On 2011 Kia Sorento EX
  • I called my contact at Tekonsha and asked about the brake switch wiring on your Sorento. They told me that the simplest way to solve the issue is to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and find the brake light wire that runs either under the door sill on the driver side or can be on the passenger side under the door sill and tie into the brake light wire at that point. They said the wiring is different for the Sorento and this seems to be the best solution.

  • Does the Class II Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Install the Same as the Class III on a 2012 Kia Sorento
  • The installation of Draw-Tite trailer hitches # 75684 and # 36511 will be very similar. You can use the video as a guide but make sure to follow the instructions for the Class II hitch which I have linked for you. I do recommend the Class III trailer hitch though for a few reasons. First, the 2 inch receiver and more stout construction provided a higher tongue weight capacity. Second, there are many more accessory options that fit a 2 inch receiver than there are for a 1-1/4 inch receiver....

  • Should the 12 Volt Circuit On the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole with Test Lamps Stay On All the Time
  • In regards to the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole w/Test Lamps part # C57674, the 12 volt power circuit (black wire) will remain active at all times if connected directly to the battery. That said, the LED on the trailer connector doesn't draw enough power to drain the battery if that is what you are worried about. If you only want the circuit active while the vehicle is running then you will need to install the Battery Isolation Solenoid part # PK5231201 which works as an automatic...

  • Why Does Power Wire of the Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Kia Sportage Need to be Run to Battery
  • The reason you want to run the power wire all the way up to battery is so that you bypass all of the delicate wiring of your vehicle. The power wire is required on trailer wiring harnesses for some vehicles because the electrical system on those vehicles cannot handle the amperage draw associated with trailer lights. I attached an FAQ article on routing the power wire for you to check out as well. Thanks for the feedback on the hitch install! I'm glad it went well for you.

  • Installation of Kats Cartridge Block Heater on 2006 Kia Rio 1.6L
  • I checked with Kat's and the Heater Part # KH11812 that you referenced is designed to fit in the cartridge that's in the RR or rear right position. This is the cartridge that is right around the back of the block on the passenger side of the vehicle. So if you were facing the engine with the hood up it would be the back corner of the engine on the passenger side. I attached a picture that shows where it is as well. 1) Locate cartridge hole on the engine block. 2) Clean cartridge hole...

  • Recommended Installation Location for Operating Unit on SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO for 2016 Kia Soul
  • The operating unit for the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251 referenced in your question can be installed in the engine compartment but should be away from any extreme heat source. Also keep in mind that the connections will need to be easily accessible. A good location on your Kia Soul might be behind the grill, as long as it doesn't restrict air flow to the radiator. I have attached the complete installation instructions on this excellent proportional braking...

  • Installation of Curt Trailer Hitch on a 2022 Kia Telluride
  • Don't worry, the spare tire on your 2022 Kia Telluride will be put back on once installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13420 is complete. Overall the installation of this hitch is pretty straight forward and you don't need to be super handy to accomplish it. There are a few things of note, like having to temporarily lower the exhaust and remove an underbody panel on the driver side. Aside from that you just raise the hitch into place, bolt it in and do some light fascia trimming...

  • Locating The Correct Brake Switch Wire On A 2019 Kia Sorento
  • I can certainly point you in the right direction. Unfortunately I cannot tell you exactly what color wire to connect to, as these wire colors are not always universal. I recommend going in with a wire tester like the # PTW2993. You will need to probe each wire. You will be looking for the wire that is hot only when the brakes are applied. This will tell you where to connect the red wire coming off of your brake controller

  • Does Trailer Wiring that Fits 2007 Kia Rondo Require Additional Converter Box
  • The trailer wiring harnesses that fit your 2007 Kia Rondo like the Tekonsha part # 118431 do not require an additional converter box as the only box needed comes with the kit. This would work well with the Curt hitch part # C11031 that fits your 2007 Kia Rondo as well.

  • Can I Go Through The Carwash with a Bolt-On Thule Roof Rack for My 2022 Kia Seltos
  • Thank you for your purchase of the Thule roof rack (parts listed below) for your 2022 Kia Seltos, and I'm glad to hear you're happy with it! If the car wash is a manual one where the power washer is being operated by hand then you can leave the roof rack on. You'll need to remove the rack for an automatic car wash though because the machines might not recognize the rack and they will make contact and damage it. It would be much easier to leave the rack installed, but I always like to...
