Yes the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 does require the battery wire ran from the black wire of the # ETBC7L to the vehicle battery. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness 56332 and our Curt # C56332 are the exact same harness.
You will need to wiggle the connector slightly while plugging the connector in to get it to seat correctly and match up with the pins on the vehicle end connector.
Make sure you have the locking ends of the connector matching the built in tab on the connector.
