I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha regarding the brake switch wire on your 2011 Kia Sedona. While this is not very common, they have seen instances like yours where there appears to be two possible brake switch wires that will be used for a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885.

You do not remove the wires off of the brake switch to install a brake controller. You will use a quick splice connector, included with the # ETBC7 kit. A quick splice work by placing the signal wire (in this case the proper brake switch wire) in one track inside the quick splice and then the wire you are splicing into (in this case the red brake controller wire) in the other track. Then you crimp it down with pliers to complete the connection.

I spoke with my contact at Curt about hitch # 13703 and he said that you can install the side brackets on the outside of an I-beam frame by turning them around. I would advise against using a thread tap to clean the weld nuts on your 2011 Kia Sedona. That should be a last resort because the possibility of a less than perfect tap is high. We recommend using a combination of spray lubricant, a wire brush, and elbow grease to clean corroded weld-nuts. We even have a help article and video on this subject which I have linked for you.

What you describe is a very common issue. Once a vehicle is more than a couple years old, road grime and corrosion can build up on the nuts welded into the frame which makes it difficult to get the mounting bolts for the # C13345 started, making you think you have the wrong installation hardware. This is especially common in the Midwest and North where ice melting chemicals are commonly used on roads in the winter.

To hold 4 bikes with the Bike Adapter For Draw-Tite and Reese Cargo Carriers you would need to load the bikes with the handle bars in alternating directions, two on each side of the bar, and then use tie downs, item # 05605, to attach the bikes to the carrier and support bar.

On your 2017 Kia Sedona the easiest place to find the wire is the wire loom that goes from the hatch to the body of the vehicle. It can typically be found near the top. Once you find this you will need to pull out the wires and test them using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 until you find the circuit that is only active when in reverse.
Note the color of the wire and trace it to where it goes behind the panels of the vehicle. Then you can tap into it with the # C57187.
