Your 2013 Mini Countryman uses a 3-wire lighting system. That means there is a wire for the turn signals, stop lights, and taillights. For your axle placement you will use the attached article to determine the distance between your trailer coupler and axle to get that 10% tongue weight desired. Because you have a torsion axle it will be much easier to test your theory to really pin point your desired tongue weight.

When installing the Draw-Tite # 75151 there is going to be some trimming of the plastic fascia required, since this hitch is a concealed cross tube hitch that mounts behind the bumper on your 2009 Mini Clubman. Since you have a 3-wire(separate) system, the brake light and turn signals are sent along different wires. You can use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test your wiring. Have someone sit in the driver seat and run through the functions while you test the wires at the back of the taillights.

Generally speaking, FWD vehicles that are dolly towed would be placed in park with the steering wheel locked. I checked the owner's manual for the 2015 Mini Cooper for dolly towing procedure, and didn't find much information there, other than the fact that automatic transmission equipped models should be towed with the front wheels off the ground. I spoke with my contact at Curt and he said Curt trailer hitch, part # C11272, will allow you to retain your spare tire under your 2013 Mini Cooper Couple with single exhaust. The spare can be removed with the hitch in place.

When dolly towing a manual transmission vehicle you should follow any instructions outlined in your owner's manual. If your owners manual doesn't specify, then I recommend putting the vehicle in neutral and not in gear. The wheel nets should have no issue holding your vehicle in place on the dolly.

I have a solution for you if you have drum brakes, but I spoke with my contact at Titan and he did not have a recommended way to manually lock out a trailer brake actuator that has an electric reverse lockout.
The best thing you can do is get some free backing trailer brakes. These brakes allow your trailer to back up without activating the brakes, even if your trailer does not have a reverse lockout.
