Flat Tow Wiring for a 2013 Mini Countryman

Question:

Trying to install diodes on 2013 mini for flat towing. I have determined the turn signals wires at each tail light. But for the wires for the brake lights I have two wires on each tail light factory wiring harness that get power to them when brake is applied. Which one is to be used with a diode kit?

Expert Reply:

Your 2013 Mini Countryman uses a 3-wire lighting system. That means there is a wire for the turn signals, stop lights, and taillights. You will need to install a diode on each of these circuits to prevent power backfeed. If you take a look at the attached photo/article this will give you a better idea of how to wire them properly. If you need an additional two diodes for the extra wires you can use part # RM-792.
