Video Transcript for Malone SUPSwing Fold Away SUP Storage System Review

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer.com. And today we are looking at our Malone SUPSwing Storage System for stand-up paddleboards here at etrailer. If you don't wanna be laying your paddleboards on the ground or against the wall, and you want a better way to take care of your, sometimes pricey stand-up paddleboard, this is a good option. Also, it helps organize your garage and make sure that everything is organized and well mounted. We have it here in this position in order to hold our paddleboard properly, but it's up to you with how wide you want it to be in order to carry maybe your longer or larger paddleboards. Just know that this has a weight capacity of 150 pounds.

This is called the SUPSwing because you can swing it back and forth to whichever position you need it to be. You have it here, ready to hold your board. But when you want to store it and you don't want it sticking out, you can just rotate it this way or the other way in order to put it into the storage position where it lays flat against your wall. The way this is designed, it has this hook here and you can see how it's narrow and it comes up a bit higher, which makes it ideal for your stand-up paddleboards. Now, if you wanna be carrying your kayak around, there's the YakSwing.

Very similar, but that comes out a little bit further and is a little bit shorter. They added something just to make sure that your boards are protected while you're storing them. So, you have this foam lining the inside and that's just to help hold onto your boards a little bit more, as well as to prevent extra scuffs and scratches from happenin'. You also have how it is capped on the end, so you don't have any pointy parts scratching up your boards, as well as on the system itself. It also has a welded ring for when you want to lock your stand-up paddleboards into place.

You can attach your lock here, just to keep them secure. Lots of people get these in order to organize their area, make sure that their kayaks or their paddleboards are stored properly. In that case, you might be interested in some measurements, just to make sure how much space are these taking up. So measuring from our wall to the end of our carrier here, it is an inch and a half. So that's gonna be the measurement when it's folded flat.

And from the wall to the end, right when it's in the carrying position, it's gonna be 11 5/8 inches long. When it's in the storage position, let's measure from the end of our hook for our cable lock to the end of the carrier, and it sits at 12 1/2 inches. The actual height it takes up depends on your stand-up paddleboard. But for the system itself, from the top, right where that end cap is to the bottom of the hook, it's 27 1/2 inches. If you wanna know how much space you need to install our brackets, from the top of the brackets to the bottom, it is 11 1/2 inches. I already installed the first one, so we'll install the second one together. Make sure you get your measurements right and that they're even. Also, drill a pilot hole that helps a lot with drillin' the included hardware. So, I have here the included screw and we'll just get that into place. The install process just involves four screws on each side. Those are included in your system. And once you have those mounted in place, you can then just arrange your SUPSwing however you want it to be and that's it, you're good to go! With it in the carrying position, you can just lower your paddleboard onto the arms and find the best fit for your stand-up paddleboard. My personal thoughts about this system is I like how it gives me the opportunity to mount these to my wall, so I don't have my paddleboards lying on the ground. Note that if you have kayaks, you can get the YakSwing, or if you just have paddleboards, you get the SUPSwing. So, I know people who like to mount them up or across their walls and get multiple sets. It really depends on you on how you're using them. I do like how this allows me to store them to the side. So if you do have a small garage or a small space and you're not storing paddleboards all the time, this will work out really well for you. And that was a look here at our Malone SUPSwing Storage System for stand-up paddleboards here at etrailer.com..

We bought this to mount on the side of our camper for surf trips. It can hold 2-3 surfboards and it’s super convenient. Has not disappointed.

great product and great price .Easy install, fast delivery

My Malone wall-mount SUP storage rack is absolutely perfect for my inflatable SUP. Because I have to deflate it each time after use because my car is too short for the 10’ board, I wondered if the Malone storage rack would still hold it well, deflated, and it absolutely does. And, I installed it myself without any trouble. I measured, used a stud-finder, and a drill. When I store the board for winter inside my house, I will be folding the hinged rack against the wall to have max room in my small garage.

My favorite feature is the 90 degree swivel to be out of the way when not in use. However, if storing a SUP board or surf board, be careful. If the board leans forward no problem. If it leans backward against the wall, there is no padding on the back of the vertical holder to avoid damaging the SUP. I use padding I found, like a towel. A better design would address this out of the box. Rubber coating on the metal, or a padded offset might be nice.

Love these racks. Very good quality and easy to use. Really like the way they swivel to stay out of the way when not in use.

by:

We are using the hooks to store our paddleboard close to the water on an outside fence. The product has exceeded my expectations. The black curvy part is totally coated in foam insulation to keep it from scratching the board. The supports swivel and lock in place to get them out of the way when not in use. The exposed metal is well-coated in plastic to prevent rust from developing and the screws are galvanized. This is a quality product and we plan to purchase another pair when we get another paddle board.

by:

These are great, you can mount your two SUPs close together on the wall, just take the top one off first and fold the hooks so you can raise the bottom one up.
You don’t need to mount the top one near the ceiling.
Great for short people.

by:

As expected and in a timely fashion. I have never been disappointed ordering from etrailer.

by:

Fast delivery. Easy install. Just what I needed in my toy trailer.

by:

I think the board should only come into contact with a padded surface

by:

Easy Install and works well.

  • Can You Carry SUPs Vertically On the Side Of a Ladder Rack
That is certainly a pretty radical idea using the etrailer.com J-Style Kayak Carrier part # e98878 and attaching them to the vertical uprights but I am afraid I cannot recommend this nor do I see a way to attach to these uprights as it appears they are too wide and the bolts would not align between them. The Malone SUPSwing Fold Away SUP Storage System part # MPG384 I could see being able to be installed on the uprights but I cannot recommend this as that is not what they are designed for.
