Can You Carry SUPs Vertically On the Side Of a Ladder Rack

Question:

I want to use your J-Style kayak carrier by mounting the vertical part of your carrier to the bottom of the vertical legs of my boat carrier frame , so the sup can sit in the cradle base and strap to the top of my uprights.Sound practical? Also, maybe the Malone SUP swing fold away looks like a good possibility. Thanks for any ideas

That is certainly a pretty radical idea using the etrailer.com J-Style Kayak Carrier part # e98878 and attaching them to the vertical uprights but I am afraid I cannot recommend this nor do I see a way to attach to these uprights as it appears they are too wide and the bolts would not align between them. The Malone SUPSwing Fold Away SUP Storage System part # MPG384 I could see being able to be installed on the uprights but I cannot recommend this as that is not what they are designed for.

Can you carry a paddleboard using a J-style malone carrier?

Paddle boards really need to be secured laying down with a saddle-style carrier like # TH810001. They're just too large/wide to safely secure them on their sides to a j-style rack.
