Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this Malone Kayak storage rack. This storage rack holds one kayak up to 100 pounds on the wall of your garage, boathouse or shed, and this is a one-inch round steel tube that has a powder coat finish for indoor or outdoor installation, and the frame here, the J-style hooks are fully padded to protect your kayak from scratches or scuffs. I'm just trying to give you an overview here of one of these. Now I took some measurements earlier, and I noticed that the J-style hook here will stick out about 15 inches or so from the wall that you have it mounted on. The overall height from top to the bottom of the hook, we're sitting at about 25 inches tall and these brackets, they measure three inches square.
So three by three inches, three inches by three inches, and then the mounting holes are two inches on center. Now this includes everything that you see here on the table before me. You're going to get two top bars, two of the J-style hooks, and I have them connected here with the two machine screws. So you're just going to slide the top bar into the J hook here, and once you have that slide in, you're gonna line up the holes and then just run those machine screws through to connect them, and then you're going to get 12 mounting screws and an instruction manual to walk you through the installation process. I do wanna point out, and you probably already know this.
You do wanna make sure that you don't mount or screw this mount into a unsupported drywall, sheetrock or paneling. This must be mounted to studs or a solid wall, and this does have a limited lifetime warranty from Malone. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Exactly as described, good quality. A minor issue was that someone added two extra staples smack into the middle of one of the cartons side, puncturing the rubber sleeve on one of the Rack hooks. Can't figure why.
Excellent brackets, just make sure you get them into the studs in the wall.
Good, solid hooks for kayaks. Bright red paint fades very quickly, but otherwise a great product.
I received these promptly. They have not been installed yet, but they look and feel solid.
