Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Installed the Sumo Springs on my RAM 2500 truck to keep my camper from rocking side to side. These are awesome and easy to install.

2015 Ram 2500

The work very well when pulling heavy loads. I definitely see a difference in the ride and level of truck when loaded down. I’m pulling around 14k in my hitch/ dump trailer. My only issue is ride quality when unloaded. If you hit a bump at higher speeds it rebounds fast and hard and you know it!

by:

Great product. Had them installed within 30 minutes of receiving them. Didn’t even have to jack up the truck! (2022 Ram 2500. Hopefully they perform as well as the set on my F150

2020 Ram 3500

I just finished installing the Sumo Springs to my 2020 Ram 3500. The install was super easy. Instruction were easy to follow and the whole thing took less time than I thought. I won’t know how they perform until I pull the 5er out of storage this spring, but I am ready. My only question and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was I thought they would sit closer to the axle than they did, may 2” from axle and I would have liked may 1” maybe I could have used another spacer and longer flat head screw to bring it closer but we will see when I put the weight on the truck. I included picks if someone wants to give me their opinion. So far I am really happy with them.

Fantastic, the Sumo’s are working as promised. Helps with sag, smooths out the ride and provides support from sway. I couldn’t be more happy. This year we will be adding Sumo’s to the 5er to help in the back, super excited about this upgrade.

2021 Ram 2500

This is my second set of SumoSprings. The first set was on a 2020 Ram Rebel. They fit perfectly on that truck with no space between the spring and the axle. They were much more difficult to install on the Rebel.

This set was much easier to install. When I ordered the springs the reviews were split on whether there would be a space between the spring and the axle. I made sure to order the correct pair for my 2021 Ram 2500. New truck for the larger trailer I’m now towing. I received the package very quickly and was surprised at how small the box was. I opened it to find the springs and all the parts in the shipping box along with the pictured instructions. I was slightly perturbed that it appeared to be a return but the parts and springs looked new so I proceeded to install. I placed the setup next to the bracket and realized there would be a space between spring and axle so I called etrailer to check if I was missing a spacer. I also was a bit worried that I ordered the wrong set since the instructions only say 2014-2017 and not 2021. I was told it was designed that way so I decided to give it a try given my experience with the Rebel and installed the springs per the instructions. Took less than 30 minutes total. I used the provided loctite on the set screw and spring.

I then drove around a bit and unloaded there is no change to the rear suspension. Going over larger bumps you can tell when the spring begins to engage as there is a little rebound. I then hooked up my trailer. With 815 lbs tongue weight the springs are engaged on the axle and with my WD bars engaged the truck is back to stock rake per the zero longitude angle with the 4x4 page pulled up. I haven’t towed yet but expect it to be similar to my Rebel and I was very satisfied with that performance. I recommend them for your your truck. Especially if you have a Ram.

2022 Ram 2500

Really good product, performs as advertised and very simple installation.

by:

These things are great. A year later and they still work perfectly. Granted, they are not as clean but they still work as designed. They keep the trailer (30' bumper pull) from bucking and it keeps it "toned down" when we hit bumps. It used to bounce and bounce after a bump but now it keeps it in check. I would recommend these to anyone as an alternative to other expensive options.

My vehicle is a 2016 Ram 2500 CTD

Easy installation.

So far so good, a year later no issues.

Installed on ram 3500 DRW for hauling a 4200lb truck camper. Easy installation and helps with side sway also tamed the ride while towing 16,000 lb 5th wheel trailer. Well worth the money for my applications

Sumo Springs work great. Had a little squat in the truck when we were towing & now no squat & no more oncoming traffic flashing their lights at us as we go down the road.

Bought these springs for my 3/4 ton truck. I was using a 9.5 ‘ slide in Lance camper and they helped immensely. I have since upgraded to a 34’ toy hauler and they are still working great!

Still working great!

by:

The Sumo Springs are a pretty good product. I have a 2019 Ram 3500 with about 3600lbs of bed payload that tows a Jayco 39-foot fifth wheel RV. When hitched I had about a five or six inch drop in the truck. I have no problem with steering - the only problem I had was going over the "ski jumps" as I call them on bridges along the highways. On the trip down to Florida in November 2020 I bottomed out a handful of times. Enough that it made me want to do something. I considered air but read about these so I tried them and can say I'm very happy with the choice. The Sumo springs take the place of the stock joust bumper. When the truck is empty/unhitched the Sumo springs make no contact with the axle housing. When connected, the springs contact the axle and I experienced no bottoming out.

by:

Dollar for dollar, for me, they beat air suspension hands down at half the cost.

Product is still doing great pulling a 36’ toy hauler.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Great Product! I recently put on new Thuren Fabrication rear springs and Fox shocks on my 2016 Ram 2500 4x4 Mega Cab. It gives it a better ride and more suspension travel but you lose some of the weight capacity. After loading the truck for a trip and hooking up the trailer, the back end was sagging. After making it to Wyoming, I ordered the SumoSprings from etrailer and had them in three days. I added the SumoSprings and it is back to normal, even with a load, and I was able to drive home with much more confidence. The ride is still great! Super easy to install, only half an hour total time. Much easier if you can jack it up and pull the wheels off.

by:

When first installed on 2020 Ram 2500 there was less than 1/4” of clearance to axle which produced a harsh ride when unloaded. I redrilled the original bracket and eliminated the supplied spring mount which resulted in approximately 3/4” of clearance unloaded and great ride quality both empty and loaded.

2019 Dodge Ram Pickup

When pulling my toys with my 2018 Ram 2500 Powerwagon I had a rocking issue that caused the trailer to sway terribly until I installed the Sumo Springs! Now I tow my 30 foot 5th Wheel camper with a 19 foot boat behind with no issues at all! I love 'em!

by:
Dodge Ram Pickup

Got these to help with rear sag on my Ram 2500 when I’m towing dump trailers. They keep the rig level and really shine when hitting bumps and bridges at speed while towing loads from the dreaded rear bottoming out and bouncing. Took less than 30 minutes to install. I have 35,000 towing miles on them now!

by:

As promised, beefed up my suspension to pull my 5th wheel with less bounce.

by:
2020 Dodge Ram Pickup

Install on my 2020 Ram 2500 was fast and easy. Installed in less than 30 minutes. Only negative ref this product is that it cannot be installed without the spacer. Made my ride much stiffer when not towing. Without the spacer Sumospring would only be engaged while towing my fifth wheel. Have not towed yet, but will next weekend.

by:

Assembly was very straight forward, with little problem. I can not feel a difference in the ride so far with no load.
Anticipating a improvement when I load my 5th wheel.

by:
2017 Ram 2500

Customer service and ordering process was very professional and easy. Product arrived in 2 days. Installation took about 20 minutes total, and they fit exactly as intended. I have yet to tow a trailer with them on, but am picking up my new fish wheel at the end of the week, and am anxious to see how they handle the load.

these help take out the sway with a slide in camper. highly recommend
