Does 2018 Ram 2500 Need Weight Distribution Towing 4k Camper

Question:

I pull a small light weight RV, unloaded weight 4,155 lbs, dry hitch weight of 445 lbs add two propane tanks to this, and with a gross vehicle weight of 5,500 lbs. I pull it with a 2018 Dodge 2500 diesel. Been RVing for over 50 years, owned about RV combo there is. Been using your products for ever. Always have used one of your class 4 equalizing hitches. I am 82, have some back issues and the 41 pound EH head and ball mount is becomming problematic for me. What can you recommend in aluminum. Since I have more truck than I really need, I could perhaps get by without an EH although i would prefer one.

Your truck is heavy duty enough that a weight distribution system is not as needed. Would it help to some extent? Sure, but for as big of a truck you have and for how light weight your RV you'll be just fine without a WD system. Also, they do not make aluminum or lighterweight options either.

Some suspension enhancement like the SumoSpring kit part # SSR-312-54 would give you additional support to get rid of any possible sag as well as improve handling so that would be one solution that would help that also wouldn't require any heavy lifting.
