Recommended SumoSprings for 2022 Ram 2500 Towing Trailer on Rough Roads

Question:

Ive asked about Timbren vs. Sumo springs before and received some great feedback from Robin. Ive decided on Sumo springs since we cant sacrifice unloaded vehicle ride. Now I have more info. on the trailer to be towed and would like feedback on the various Sumo spring options for a 2022 Ram 2500 Cummins, 4x4, 18inch tires with a payload capacity of 2,161 that is towing a Outdoors RV 28 BKS travel trailer that has an empty tongue wt. of 875 and unloaded wt. of 7,500 lbs. But, has a gross capacity of just under 10,000 lbs. Much bigger trailer than our currrent trailer and with a heavy tongue wt. Again, we drive a Ram because both my wife and I have back problems and we go on rough trails for fly fishing. Best option between the blackish colored SSR-312-47, with 1,500 lb capacity, Yellow SSR-312-54 with 2,800 lb capacity and the Rebel SS64VR with a 5,000 lb capacity. We dont want to overload the Sumo springs but we want the softest ride possible unloaded. The WD hitch we will use is an Equalizer, 14,000 thanks for that advice too.

The SumoSprings Rebel # SS64VR is what you want if the best ride loaded and unloaded is your concern. The two piece design will be better overall on the Rebel. This is the model with the lower capacity of 3,000 lbs which should be plenty.

The Solo # SSR-312-54 came into play based on budget. Since you're also getting an Equal-i-zer you probably want to save a little if possible. You're still going to benefit from these and they aren't going to have a big impact on your unloaded ride quality. I would go ahead and get these over any others since it is the best balance of budget friendly and support.
