One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

Jeep Wrangler

The product is great, the only issue I had was that it did not have the correct connectors for the Jeep Wrangler, but I was able to get some quickly. It's kept my Jeep's Trans fluid temp nice and cool, even when pulling my 3k pound travel trailer.. GREAT!

by:

Easy to install and has worked great on my '06 4Runner v6. A little extra piece of mind for the mountains. This size just barely fits on the passenger side of the radiator - there is a central, vertical support bar behind the grill that prevents a wider cooler from fitting.

by:

I can not install the transmission cooler BECAUSE the other parts ordered has not arrived.

by:

This Transmission cooler really works well. It keeps my transmission much cooler while towing heavy trailers. I connected it in series with the factory coolers for a lower operating temperature. If towing or hauling heavy loads I recommend this plate cooler. Also plates remove more heat than tubes.

This cooler is great. The transmission even towing rarely ever gets above 150 degrees. Heat is the main cause of transmission failure and fluid turning to varnish. Highly recommend this cooler.

by:

Packaging was damaged but no damage to cooler due to solid construction. Had done online searches for installation tips and suggestions. All very beneficial. However, this cooler is larger than many I saw online and I had to find an alternate installation location. I was able to find a suitable location in front of radiator and minor modification (drilled two additional mounting holes in mount bracket and trimmed one corner for clearance.) Overall has shown lower transmission operating temps. Have not towed since installation and hope that lower temps carry over to towing a load. I give this product, shipping, and customer service a thumbs up.

by:

This was easy to mount in front of the radiator, and connections were correct to run as 2nd trans cooler for Armada, towing 6500lbs. Immediate change to about 15-20 degrees on long uphill climbs. Just need to inform the tranny guys that it takes more fluid whenever you get a change.

by:

Replaced Trans cooler on 1 ton. Temps running lot lower than stock cooler.

by:

Parts arrived fast and in good condition. My setup needs recessed mounting, and I must use the cooler's bolt holes for proper clearence and support. Supplied plastic ties and foam are not quite enough for a secure mounting, and the supplied hose barb fittings are nice aluminum, but I need a 1/2" barb end, not 3/8". These little things are no problem. I'm happy and will buy from e-trailer again.

by:

Works great to cool the air going into my Air Compressor tank.

GMC Canyon

I added the cooler brfore going on a cross country trip. So far, I have climbed the ozark mountains , Guadalupe mountains, kings canyon and death valley. The highest temperature so far was 186. I'd say it is working better than expected

2002 Chevrolet Avalanche

This aux transmission kit was easy to install and did just the trick in bringing my engine and trans temps down form towing my trailer. Definitely recommend!

by:

Works great. Easy to install. Instructions were also good. I also believe this site had videos on the install as well.

Really sturdy and heavy duty, had to move my tire for install but not relocate it on my 96 f250. Took me a little over an hour, had pre existing holes so I only had to drill two of them out.

by:

Good product. Great instructions. For me, easy to install

  • Recommendation For Transmission Cooler On a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Towing a 7,000 Lb Trailer
Ideally you want to keep the temperature of the transmission fluid in the 160 to 200 degree range. You cannot cool transmission fluid too much. Transmission coolers are universal fit items so you will want to measure the space you have in front of your air conditioning condenser or your radiator to see what size cooler will fit your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Since you will be towing a 7,000-lb trailer through the mountains with your Silverado I would recommend to use the Derale...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler and Locating Transmission Return Line on 2007 Chevy Avalanche
The return line is typically the bottom line, but you should confirm by doing the following. Start cold engine, place the transmission in drive for about 10 seconds, then shift back to park and shut motor off. Then, feel the upper and lower transmission lines. One line should be noticeably cooler than the other. The cooler of the two lines would be the return. Since you cannot over cool a transmission, we recommend choosing the largest cooler that will fit into the space available....

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler Add-On for 1999 Ford F-250
I recommend using the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 to supplement the factory transmission cooler on a 1999 Ford F-250. This is a stacked cooler which is extra efficient meaning it will provide greater cooling in a smaller package. I recommend installing this inline with the existing cooler and not replacing. Please note, you'll need to add a bit more fluid to the system because of the extra lines and cooler capacity.

  • Supplemental Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2001 Ford F-150
Factory coolers are often times adequate at best for non-towing applications. For a cheap insurance policy I would add an additional one to your 2001 Ford F-150 since you basically can't over cool a transmission. The cooler you can keep the fluid the longer the transmission will last. A very popular option that would work well for you would be the Derale part # D13614 that you referenced. You would also want the fittings # D13025 to allow the installation of the cooler to be a bit easier...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 2WD
I would be happy to recommend a transmission cooler for your 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 2WD. If your Tahoe has the 4.8L V8 I recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class V - Extra Efficient # D13614, or if you have the 5.3L V8 I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient # D13504 instead. For either of these options you will need the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035,...

  • Replacement Transmission Cooler for 2017 Ford Explorer
It is possible to bypass the original cooler and install a cooler like the # D33504 Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler. It is typically recommended to install this with your factory cooler to assist in the cooling process. I would not recommend this if you plan on doing some heavy towing. Since this would be the only transmission cooler, you will want to use a larger model like a class IV or V. The # D33504 Derale I already mentioned is a Class IV plate-fin cooler that is...

I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...

  • Recommendation of Transmission Cooler For 2002 Ford Expedition 5.4L Towing a Horse Trailer
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, they are universal and we put together some options on our website that are recommended for your 2002 Ford Expedition with 5.4 L engine with other parts that are needed for installation. • Identifying Transmission Return Line for Installation of Derale Class V Cooler # D13614
You want to install the Derale supplementary transmission cooler # D13614 on the return line from the radiator. You'll need Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035. To determine which line is the return line you will want to start with your truck totally cooled off. Now go out and feel the two...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Toyota Tacoma V6
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so there are no specific instructions for vehicles. Our best cooler would be the one that is most efficient. Stacked plate coolers are the most efficient and a good option with an install kit is the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13614. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2010 Ford F-150
We do have several transmission coolers that use NPT 1/2 inch fittings though the hose size may be different. It is the inner diameter that you would need to know. The 1/2 inch NPT cooler use a 3/8 inch inner diameter hose. Since transmission fluid cannot be over cooled, the largest cooler that will fit in the engine compartment is recommended. In the 1/2 NPT category, the largest we carry is # D13614 that you have referenced. I have included a link to a video review of this cooler and...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2012 Nissan Titan 4x4
For your 2012 Nissan Titan I recommend Derale Transmission Cooler # D13614. This is a Class V cooler meaning that it is very efficient and will provide a large cooling capacity. The best place to mount the cooler is right behind the grille/in front of the AC condenser core. It can get the most airflow in this position. The line from the transmission will go from the tranny to the factory cooler. From there it needs to go to the new supplemental cooler and then back to the transmission. To...

This cooler measures 11" wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep which you should have plenty of space for. You would want an engine oil cooler like the part # D15902. • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2019 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost with 10 Speed
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 is my recommendation if you want to increase the cooling capacity of the transmission on a 2019 Ford F-150. I can't speak specifically of the 10-speed transmission but so long as the cooler is installed correctly and you add more fluid to the system I see no reason why this could not be done.
