  • Sleek design makes this ideal for use in compact cars

Specs:

  • Inlets: 1/2" NPT

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

My original transmission cooler sprung a leak on my 1990 dodge pickup and a direct replacement couldn't be found. Etrailer had a cooler that would fit and do the job. Would highly recommend them to solve your problems and supply what's needed.

  • Will a Transmission Cooler Affect Engine Temperature Towing With A 2016 Grand Caravan
Transmission coolers should not impair the engine's ability to stay cool when operating. One point to note is that these coolers are much smaller than the radiator and allow plenty of air flow to pass both around and through to the engine. For transmission coolers, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a fine choice. It's a radiator style design and the fluid is continually agitated to help dissipate heat. Include is a video review for more information.

  • Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge and Cooler Recommendation for a 2013 Dodge Caravan
For a temperature gauge you could use to monitor the temperature of the transmission fluid in your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan I would recommend the # D13009 for a mechanical gauge. This will require you to drill into the transmission pan to install the fitting and sending unit. I attached a picture that shows how it installs on a transmission fluid pan. For a transmission cooler to help reduce the temperature of the tranny fluid you could use the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission...

  • Compatibility of Transmission Cooler with Automatic Transmission on 2006 Toyota Corolla
You will want to install the cooler on the return line. You can identify which one is the return by starting out with the engine cold, starting it, shifting into gear for about 10-seconds and then back to park, then shutting the engine off. Feel the two lines; the cooler one is the return line. Please note that when you add a cooler like Derale # D13611 (or a larger one) that is confirmed to fit your car you naturally also add a requirement for additional fluid. Toyota insists that only...

  • Which Transmission Cooler for 2004 Nissan Titan to Supplement or Replace OEM Cooler
The transmission coolers we offer are not OEM replacements. They are intended to supplement the existing OEM cooler for demanding applications like towing or for continuous use in very hot conditions. Coolers are NOT vehicle-specific; you can use as large a cooler as you have the space to install it. If your Nissan OEM cooler is a combination radiator/transmission...

  • Transmission Cooler For A 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee With A 3 Liter Diesel
I contacted Derale to verify that any transmission cooler will work on your 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee as long as it will fit where you want to install it. I recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Item # D13611 as it is small enough to mount in many different locations but still provide you with the proper cooling for your transmission. I have also provided a link to the different size coolers for a Jeep Grand Cherokee so you can take a look and get a better idea...

  • Recommendation For Transmission Cooler on a 2007 Jeep Liberty 3.7L Engine
On a transmission cooler there are three basic types of heat exchangers. The most efficient is the stacked plate. The next one is the plate and fin, which is very efficient. Then, the tube and fin which is moderately efficient. It will also matter where the heat exchanger is installed. The best spot for the greatest efficiency is between your vehicles grille and the AC condenser core on your 2007 Jeep Liberty. The next best spot is between the AC condenser and the radiator. This spot will...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2002 Ford Explorer
The best way to pick out the best transmission cooler is to measure the area in front of your radiator to see what size cooler would fit and pick the biggest size available. The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a pretty small cooler, but if you have limited space it would help and it does come with an installation kit. If you can fit it I would go with a larger one like the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503. Check out the install video I attached for...

The transmission cooler I recommend for your 1996 Subaru SVX is the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit with Barb Inlets, Class III # D13503. This cooler will provide a large surface to help further cool the transmission fluid, with the cooler measuring 11 inches wide x 8-3/4 inches tall x 7/8 inches deep. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2008 GMC Yukon
A transmission cooler is exactly what you need to keep the transmission fluid at an ideal temperature which is below 200 degrees. Ideally, you'll want to get the largest cooler that will fit into the available space. The best spot to install a cooler is directly behind the front grille, in front of the radiator and the a/c condenser. The Derale # D13504 would be ideal if you have enough room to accommodate its 11 inch wide by 12 inch tall size. The cooler would tap into the return line...

  • How Does Supplemental Transmission Cooler Work with Factory Cooler of 2003 Ford Escape

  • Transmission Fluid Needed for Transmission Cooler Installation
When you install the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13611 a little extra fluid will be needed. The last part of the installation instructions have you add fluid as needed and then drive the vehicle for a little while and recheck the fluid level. Not much additional fluid is needed unless much is spilled when you disconnect and reconnect the lines. Normally just a few ounces of fluid is needed.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2006 Saturn Vue 4WD
Although the Derale # D13611 transmission cooler would work well with your Saturn Vue, we typically recommend using the largest cooler that will fit behind the grille of your vehicle. The ideal mounting location is directly behind the grill, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. Because a transmission cooler allows airflow through it, there is not a worry that it will block or hinder the operation of the radiator or condenser behind it. • Do I Need A Transmission Cooler When Towing A 2003 Saturn LW300 With A Motorhome
Using a transmission cooler on your motorhome when towing a vehicle would definitely help limit the wear and tear on the transmission. The Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13611, is designed for compact cars so I would recommend the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13504, which is designed for larger vehicles. The factory transmission cooler is likely inside of the radiator on your 2006 Nissan Xterra so the only way to replace it would be to replace the radiator. You can probably find an aftermarket one for less money than an OEM replacement from Nissan. However, a transmission cooler is always a good idea, especially when towing, to keep the fluid cooler so the transmission is less likely to get damaged or wear out any faster than normal.
