Weight Capacity and Effectiveness of Equalizer Weight Distribution System on a Loaded Tundra

Question:

Stock Tundra with RAS. 930# tongue wt, 7100# tt loaded, payload maxed or a few hundred over, 14k e4. With RAS, I have almost negligible wheel well to ground on front, so can I go by actual axle weight? I’m at 8 spacers with bars parallel and only transfering 35~40. Is my next step raising L brackets and if so I am hours from a CAT SCALEshould I still maintain 8 washers or remove one? I don’t know if one L bracket hole is comparable to one spacer or not. I cannot get to scales. Whole set up is perfectly level RAS but not enough weight transfered.

It sounds like you are using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37140ET with your 2014 Tundra. Whatever weight you have in the back of your truck will throw off the effectiveness of the weight distribution system. You should check the tag on the inside of your door to see what your trucks maximum capacity is and go off of that for how much payload you can carry. If your truck is level with your trailer then the weight distribution system is set up correctly and it sounds like you need to address your issues by lessening the weight in your Tundra. If your truck is overloaded then enough weight won't be transferred.

The RAS will help with your payload to reduce sag but it will not transfer weight. You will want to set up the weight distribution system on the trailer first then load up your payload and adjust the RAS system.
