Will a Transmission Cooler Affect Engine Temperature Towing With A 2016 Grand Caravan

Question:

Im contemplating purchasing a small boat, maybe 15-20 feet, and have a 2016 Grand Caravan as a tow vehicle. Would mounting a transmission cooler in front of the radiator cause any issues with the radiators ability to keep the engine cool? Thanks.

Transmission coolers should not impair the engine's ability to stay cool when operating. One point to note is that these coolers are much smaller than the radiator and allow plenty of air flow to pass both around and through to the engine.

For transmission coolers, the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a fine choice. It's a radiator style design and the fluid is continually agitated to help dissipate heat. Include is a video review for more information.
