product from Pollak is always great but they packed it with steel couplers and destroyed it

No issues at all.

Worked out awesome. I bought this for a buddy for his used truck. The previous owners for what ever reason took it. Plugged it in and worked flawlessly.

by:
2004 Nissan Titan

The 3 star rating is because this is not a direct replacement for a Nissan Armada. I bought this to replace the original socket on a 2004 Nissan armada. The hitch on the car says it is a Nissan hitch. I did not notice that the original socket mounted as a twist lock type and the bracket had no mounting screws when I ordered this socket. In defense of the manufacture and distributor of this socket the description did not say it was a direct replacement for an armada the assumption would be that the hitch would be the same as a titan. This was no big deal for me since I had a drill and bits to drill mounting holes and used # 8 sheet metal screws. Just have to be careful to drill the holes the right size so they self thread properly. I have been looking to see if there is a direct replacement for the original socket but can't seem to find one not even on Nissan's parts web site so I guess you just have to do what I did. I didn't think to take a video of the installation but I have included a picture of the finished install.

The transaction went great. Delivered on the time I was told good product

by:

It fit perfect and was literally plug and play.

by:

I had to replace the socket in my truck after I forgot to disconnect the plug when setting up my camper 1 year ago. Since then, I've connected the camper 35 times and pulled it over 6,000 miles. I have had no issues at all with the new socket.

2016 Porsche Cayenne

It fit right up to my 2016 Porsche Cayenne diesel. A very simple installation.

by:

This is it!! If you have a Porsche Cayenne with a tow package (mine's a 2017) and you're wondering why the wiring "connector" that came from the factory is just a plate with nothing to plug in to... This is the thing you need! It fits the holes in the mounting bracket perfectly and plugs right into the harness coming out of the car (after you carefully release the little clip holding the clip connecting the plate to the harness (no, that's not a typo). I also purchased a matching 7 to 4-pin adapter, so I can easily connect to either. And etrailer had it all... and made it easy. Quick shipping, just as promised. Love e-Trailer! :)

Perfect OEM quality!!!

Hi, I am a ASE Certified Automotive technician for 30-plus years. I have to say these parts are Factory quality, the option for Direct Fit everything plugs right into the wiring harnesses fits as if they came as original equipment with the vehicle and the same quality. When ordering parts if you call and speak to an operator that extremely helpful and actually know what's going on. And their tech support this extremely knowledgeable.

After redoing my trailer wiring harness to put a socket in the bed of my 1995 F250, I used this to replace the old socket in my bumper. Saved me having to do more splicing and hard wiring in the old socket.

After a year of use, this is still working great. I don’t use it a lot as most of my towing is of the 5th wheel using the in-bed connector.

by:
2008 Porsche Cayenne

This is the original plug and play. For VW SUV's this does the trick. I recommend using some anti-seize on the bolts that secure this into the mount. I have this on both an Audi and a Porsche both work great. The picture shows what the car some with so you simply plug this unit into the factory socket and secure with 4 machine screws.

by:

Nice fit to my factory harness. This was a replacement for the factory hitch mount. I decided to drill a hole and mount in the bumper like I’ve seen on other vehicles. This makes for a convenient and protected location.

  • Troubleshooting Gooseneck Trailer Lights Not Working
Troubleshooting a lighting issue like yours is easier if you test the vehicle and trailer separately. The vehicle connector can be tested for correct light signals by using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 or # PTW2992 on the ground and each of the individual circuit contacts. Please refer to the linked photo to see which contact to test for each light function. If signals are not present when you activate the function check the vehicle fuse box for blown fuses, check the main ground for...

  • Why Do Some Circuits of Trailer Wiring Connectors Use Heavier Gauge Wire
Typically the heavier gauge trailer wiring circuits are for the brake output circuit, the ground wire, and the 12 volt accessory circuits as they draw the most amperage. The other circuits are all taillight circuits which typically don't draw as much. So why not just make them all heavy gauge? Well you certainly could and you'd be fine, but manufacturers try to find ways to cut costs without affecting performance and this is just one of those ways. I attached a diagram for a 7-way for...

You did say that you already checked this, but I do recommend verifying that the fuses and relays for the trailer right turn/brake lights are present and in good condition under the hood as well as the fuse block on the driver's side edge of the instrument panel. • Factory 7-Way Replacement Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F Series Super Duty Truck

I attached a picture that shows what the round connector looks like that the 7-way is designed to fit. As long as your 2014 Ford F Series Super Duty has/had a factory 7-way installed on it, or the connector is present, the part # PK11893 will be the correct part to use.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Turn Signal/Stoplight that Isnt Functioning
First thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2993 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If the voltage checks out there but the trailer lights still don't function right then the problem is on the trailer wiring. That would mean that problem is either due to a ground issue or a short issue. Make sure that the trailer side connector are clean...
