Brake Controller and 7-way Trailer Connector Recommendation for 2020 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
My pop-up camper has brakes, and uses a 7-way blade trailer connector. What do I need to install a 7-way on my 2020 Outback Wagon?

Since your pop-up has brakes, you'll need to install a brake controller to actuate it.
The easiest way to complete the installation, if you have a iOS v8.0+ or an Android v4.4+ equipped smartphone would be to use the Curt # C51180 Echo. The controller simply plugs into the 7-way and uses your smartphone as the user control once you download the available app.
To install, you'll need the # C56040 T-Connector as well as the # ETBC7L install kit. Installation is super easy. Install the T-Connector as shown in the linked installation video. Use the install kit, plugging the included adapter into the 4 pole provided by the T-Connector and run one wire to the battery through the provided circuit breaker.
