If you are wiring up a 7-way on your 2007 Chevy Silverado the brake output circuit should be a dark blue wire. However, since wiring colors can be misleading the easiest way to determine which circuit does what from the bundle of wires you have would be to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test all of the wires for function while you apply all of the different taillight and brake functions.

I attached a diagram that shows how a 7-way normally gets wired.
